Default What kind of grease do you use for the tail box?

I need to replace what's in my srimoks. Is it bad to mix grease? Does anyone know what kind kasama includes with the kit? Thanks

I've been using tri flow synthetic grease for a while. Works good.
Mixing it with the old kind shouldn't matter...

I have no idea what grease Kasama supplied but I use Hacker lithium gearbox grease. It's expensive but lasts well and I've had very very little wear in 200 flights. I also use it for the thrust bearings.

I also use the Scorpion bearing oil for the gearbox bearings and other bearings on the helis.

KY eh - there's a thought - use buckets of the stuff in my job

Kasama's grease is a very high end product that he gets from Japan - probably doesn't even have an English name ! - I use TriFLow grease but I think that any good quality grease works well

i did a little experementing with grease in the gearbox too. after the kasama stuff i used a graffite based grease for the extra lubing effect but it was to light and didn't stick to the high rpm rotating tail gears very well. I now use a grease specially for high rotating gears from a car shop. sticks very good an it is not to expensive. I defenatly will not pay close to 8 for a tiny amount of grease from hacker.
I used the scorpion oil for my counterbearing but i don't know why but my bearing startet rusting and getting very hot after a flight. Now i use WD40 every now and then and every thing seems fine now!

Which counterbearing is this? I'm using the Scorpion oil on my bearing and so far it's working great.

Default Thanks merc!

The smallest size they have is 400 grams. That will last me a lifetime but 24 pounds shipped to USA isn't that bad for the best. Thanks for tracking the maker down for me.
