Shooting is right up there with flying Heli's on the fun list!
Unless you were into serious competition for over 10 years and paid your way through university with it. Then, like your job, you'd wish you didn't have to do it again tomorrow. Ugh.

Sounds like you guys had fun. Hoping to see some 700s local. Cheers.

I also believe from discussions with Mikado, that the belt idler bearing (which is the current version in the above picture), will change and improve some. They just didn't have the parts available when they came over for the event. So the end product might be a little different than what's in the photo.

Difference in competitive shooting and just blasting for fun. Some times a hobby can turn into a job. Noooo!!!!!

Had a job flying a 21' rc blimp in the Super Dome for the Saints back in the 90's. After three years of it I wanted my Sundays back. Began to hate it...

So the videos with normal cameras (not cellphones) confirm the gear is very noisy. Why is that? 800 XX doesn't sound like that.

It's not ... much better sounding in real life, to be honest. It has a good sound to it

Guessed so since the Herrinbone is quieter and the XX800 sounds like other Logos.

Is the new VBar sensor going to be available separately as a replacement for current sensor?

From my understanding, yes.

They offer the blueline sensor separately so I don't see why they wouldn't do the same with the new grey sensor.

even the i have just gone and got a compass 7hv i may have to get the new 700 depending on the price i know its still early days but does any body have a idea of the price and its its going to be kit only or a bundle like the 800 ?

Yah the logo 700 is a lot quieter than a trex 700E. I think the goblin that was there was even quieter.

the 700 and XX sounded very similar at the same headspeed. But, when the 700 was put up to 1900, there was no doubt what was in the air--in a very good way IMHO.

No videos of Jamie flying the L700 yet but I heard he was running at 2100? How did that sound?

1900 is pretty low by today's 700 smacker standards. But then again, not many guys on the planet that can do this high skill level competition style flying. The technical stuff they pull off is astonishing. If that stuff was as easy as a good smack routine I doubt you'd see as much smack. But as it is, smack is the lower hanging fruit, and it gets your buddies to giggle and cheer you on. It's fun, so that's what many of us end up doing. To that end, I would like to see a good L700 smack video. Maybe Kyle can do one hyped up head speed flight for the stick bangers?

Amazing.. I was there watching the whole thing. Jamie didn't disappoint at all. Mikado has truly some of the best pilots in the world. I was just glad to be a part of it.

It's all about headspeed. People in the first row of canopies were shocked at Heli Invasion and said they couldn't hear my TDR at 1650 RPM. They should see it at 1400-1500 - you can barely hear it from the pilot's station!

At the event Jaime did run a higher head speed than Kyle and Jesse, but then again, Jaime has a different more aggressive flight style than Kyle and Jesse.

Marcus Gelhard (professional videographer), was at the event filming various flights by all the pilots. He had a conference in Vegas after the event, so his getting the videos produced and posted probably is a little delayed...but they are coming.

The vids should give guys a more complete picture of the machine, and how it flies, and what to expect. But then again, few fly like Jaime (-:
