Default Vacation time! A few days, at least.

Just got off work, enjoying a beer or 6. Deffinately earned it tonight. What a bitch.

Anyway, I'm off for the next 6 days. As I said, I need to patch my roof, thus the time off. That shouldn't take more than a few hours, though.

Even though I was off last year for 6 months, I don't think that qualified at all as rest and relaxation. As you remember, this time last year I was eating Oxycodone like they were M&M's.

So, what IS on the agenda, you might ask?
Well, tomorrow, I plan on getting a few last minute items for the roof, and a hair cut. Wanted to fly fish for the first time in 2 years, ( I used to fish a minimum of 150 days a year ), but the weather has turned a little wet and windy.

Saturday is the roof, and a little family time.

Sunday is dedicated to go see my ol' friend at his farm. Will take my Hexa and quad and a heli or two. His dog, Indie, passed away today, I'll really miss him. Indie tried to eat everybody he ever met, including my friend, but loved me to death!

Monday thru Wednesday is open to the 3 f's,,,, fly fishing, flying and f***ing off, ( not to mention a beer or two dozen ).

Nice thing is, after this I'll still have a little over 3 weeks of vacation time left.

Ahhh, it's good to be the King!!!

Feel I'll need a vacation after doing the quote I'm doing - 500-600m2 Health-Spa with 3 Treatment Rooms/Sauna/Steam Room/Jacuzzi/Gym/Changing Rooms!!!

By far the biggest quotefor to date!! And if I'm successful winning this work....I'll definately earn myself a holiday or new heli....maybe both!!!

Have a great time Tom, you definately deserve it

JHC!!!
Today was a real bitch! Got to about 70 F. for awhile before the clouds rolled in and cooled down the roof in the afternoon.
Got more damage than I thought on the side facing the mountains. I have open space on that side, so there is nothing but the roof to take the brunt of those damn winds we get.
Roofs are a lot like dogs, even the best ages about the same. and no matter what, I only get enough damage to make it a pain in the ass, never enough to meet the insurance deductable!

My poor virgin nephiew,,, I don't know how many times he smashed his fingers, and such ail's and pains.
He showed up in shorts, too. I sent him home to put on a pair of pants!

Got the west side pretty much done, but still got the north garage roof to do tomorrow.

He's not the only one hurting, though. We were up there for over 6 hours straight. I'm so bad I had to take a left over pain killer!

He told me he would come back Tuesday to help finish, as I have the time off, but in nixed that. Starting Monday we loose the cloud cover and the temp goes up to mid 80's. That means about 120+ on the roof.
So, tomorrow we do it again, but the damage is a lot less on the north roof.

Damn glad that I'll have 3 extra days to recover!

I know that feeling!! Replaced 30m2 of roof tiles last year, only they were clay and weighed about 5kg each. All that sunshine, hammering and ladder work really takes it out of you!! Hope you enjoy that holiday now

Aching hands from the hammer, aching arms from the carrying, aching feet from the rungs of the ladder, aching legs from climbing it and aching torso from staying balanced whilst up there working. There is nothing left that doesn't hurt. And all most other people just think, look at that lucky SOB up there getting a suntan
