Default DX6 Gyro Gain

I know it's possible to do remote gain on a DX6, and I think it involves plugging the lead into ch 5 and then using the travel adjustment to change the gain, but I'm not even 80% sure about that. If anyone knows any more please tell me

That's exactly how I set mine up on the DX7. Positive travel is the heading mode gain. Negative travel is the standard mode gain.

How do you figure out what gain % you have

It will be the % of travel. +70% would be 70% Heading Hold gain.

well i mean its up to you man, thats just my 2 cents. setting it up is alittle confusing i had it setup for awhile. but before i test flew iti just didnt want to deal with it. so i just cut the remote gain wire off, and used a eye glass screw driver to turn the pot

I don't get that at all! I was really glad not to have to turn a stupid pot. Just punch a couple buttons on my tx, and pop it back into the air. I'm quite pleased with my dx6 on my 450S + 401 + 9650. Different strokes for different folks I suppose... but mine flies like a dream...
