It also doesn't last all that long. I could see it scaring some newbie but when it happened to me I was like "really...that is what everyone is upset about". Also even with soft spool into idle 1 it goes by pretty quick and gyros hold fine through it (found that out when had collective a little high)

Recalls are generally reserved for safety issues, not customer satisfaction. A "service advisory" or "part upgrade/replacement" is closer to reality, not a recall.

The only thing relevant to a recall would he the ejecting tail blades, and I don't think its been too common, judging by the number of reports on helifreak vs members who have bought them. Granted helifreak might be 1/10th or even much less of the market, its still a valid data collection for percentages considering how spread out we are.

Sent using TapaTalk on my HTC Evo 3D

A clear statement from HH on how tightly gears A and B are supposed to mesh would be really useful.

Right now, poor _red_neck's excellent video on the subject, and the other posts in that thread are essential reading, in case anybody hasn't seen them yet.

I did this (powered through the resonance RPM) and had one good flight. The next flight I was in a simple, stable hover and the vibration suddenly started, the tail gave way and it spun into the graound. I fixed the heli and turned up the head speed a little to keep it out of the vibe RPM. The next flight the same thing happened after less than a minute. Now it does it almost imediately upon takeoff...it has gotten worse and is now un-flyable.
These small plastic parts can't handle the severe vibrations and will quickly wear out.
It's a poor design and/or quality control that HH/Blade needs to fix.

Default Will Horizon ever admit the real problem with the tail resonance?

It's sad that James and Horizon Hobby won't admit that the resonance is due to the cheap flanged tail ball bearings! All they have to do is admit that the bearings are the issue and send everyone who asks for them a free set of higher quality bearings!

Come on Horizon Hobby your customer service is supposed to be much better then Hobby Services/ Hobbico??? This tiny helicopter cost us nearly $300!

Mine used to go through the vibration during spool up relatively quick, but after few flights it started taking longer and longer for the vibration to go away.

Last flight it vibrated almost till full head speed, then a minute later I partially lost tail authority, the pin on the tail pitch slider was gone.

Of course none of the 5 hobby stores within a 20 mile radius of me have any in stock

I am finding it hard to fathom that Walkera parts are an upgrade for this heli. How crazy is this hobby getting? I would love to modify the entire tail assy from my 120D02 and use it on this heli. There is much less slop and blade grip play over the stock 130X assy.

I know right... I still have a bad taste in my mouth from my walkera experience, but man I gotta say it is unbelievable that a walkera part (FACTORY) could be considered an upgrade.

I'm ordering a walkera tail pitch slider. Not even going to bother calling HH for another replacement. It's obvious it's just going to fail again.

Any HH reps have any suggestions on how to address the metal A gear fitment issue? I purchased the metal A gear and it is causing binding and vertical movement in the main shaft. I would be more than happy to ship it to HH for inspection.... Just PM me.

Hey, as long as we're sending stuff back for inspection...my metal gear wore thru the elev servo, so I ground the gear down and replaced the servo. Next flight...the elev channel on my 3in1 blows, and the new elev servo works in any other channel. Strange coincidence HH????

[Come on Horizon Hobby your customer service is supposed to be much better then Hobby Services/ Hobbico??? This tiny helicopter cost us nearly $300!]

The same week the 130x came out, WOW had the V120D02S on sale for $149.95 and the tail gears don't touch the "inards" of the servos. Just had to vent more.

Hey

Funny we are not hearing from HH anymore in this thread????????

I think I know why, they are in the 300 thread talking about the 300 release..."Shipping Now"

Go figure right, speak up to sell! Mute after the fact!!!

@soljkaer20

I guess you're subscribed to this thread, seeing as you started it?

We really do need some advice on this please.

It IS total BS. I haven't seen HH claim they test fly every heli (used to even say it on the box...my CP Pro did) since they completely abandoned the E-flite name on all their helis and went with Blade 100%. The mSR was the last E-flite/Blade heli to bear both names on the canopy and that was a LONG time ago. Heck, I'll bet they didn't even test fly all the mSRs. My mSR swashplate arrived jacked over so far to one side that there was no way it would have hovered without serious trim input and, possibly, holding in healthy stick correction. And, that was straight up mechanical setup...no AS3X on that one...

They aren't test flying these...my first 130 X was DOA out of the box...hope the replacement that's coming is actually flyable...

They didn't do a recall where they had us send our mCP Xs back in. They just issued a "Rev B" head to all the early adopters who filled out a form. I believe they did want the original heads back, but I kept mine because I'd already put Boca replacement bearings in it and it was flying fine.

Same failure here but only worse. 5th flight tail pitch slider pin broke off, pitch slider links flew off in flight, Got it close to the ground and auto'd. Think this happened because the tail developed the constant buzzing from failing tail flanged ball bearings. The flanged bearings are really sloppy allowing the tail to move allot which sets up a vibration that will not stop even at 100%. Plastic crown gear was just about totally gone in 5 flights.

Not happy with this heli at this point.. Picked up a metal crown gear and orderd a set of good tail bearings. In a few days I will try again. Wheres the QC?
