Daren mentioned a skid, tail fin, and a front tt gear I think. Pretty good considering. Nice save Daren. That was pretty low too.

Skids, tail fin and the crown gear insert. OptiGuard saved the heli, I just did my best to minimalize the dammage.

Wow nice save man!

Are you using a BEC?

I am using a 2S lipo for electronics power and I still use an OptiGuard.

The Jive Pro has an internal BEC but both master and slave power cables came unplugged and unglued. So power was lost via the jive. However, the OptiGuard is a battery backup which takes over if or when the BEC fails. OptiGuard is the reason I was able to save the heli..

I don't use an external RX battery for power as I like simplicity. You can consider the OptiGuard an RX pack. Its just one you never have to charge and saves your ass in a pinch.

Two mistakes. 1) letting it happen, 2) continuing to fly. Nice flying, but when the models in the air, how can you be sure no wires were snagged by the canopy etc?

This was second time for this canopy to fly off. First time happened last summer and I landed immediately. Then I fixed it with tape and let it stay on as long as it stays. Ordered new white canopy to wait the next fly off and when that happens I build the new mount that doesn't let it fly off. Now works well with new canopy.

Wires can't go anywhere. Those are so short and I've build this so that I don't have to worry about wires when I fly.

Toeh

Get yourself some RC Booya canopy mounts, the canopy will never fly off!!!! With this kit you still use the stock front mounts.

Cheers

Steve

I've looked those but those are REALLY expensive. I made my own "Toeh Booya's".

They're cheaper than a crash caused by an ejected canopy, plus they're REALLY awesome.
