Default Rush 750 Original Hub assembly

I'm on the process of building a Rush 750 original, and I just can't get the one way hub assembly to work. There's two issues:

1) When assembling the oneway hub assembly (top and bottom) the one way bearing has a ridiculous amount of friction in the "free" direction, this is without any excessive torque on the screws holding the assembly together. The only way to get an acceptable amount of friction is to undo the screws, and torque them to an absolute minimum. Doing this, there's still a visible gap between the top and bottom plate, this can't be right?

2) When trying to put the auto gear on the one way sleeve, there's no way to press it in enough to make the m4 screw go through both the gear, and the sleeve. It seems that if I removed some 0,5 mm (out of the 1 mm(!)) lip on the bottom plate, I could make the fit, but this just doesn't seem right?

Did I get a dud bottom plate? Anyone else had this issue?
