I don't know what version it is. I bought it new in February from either Esprit or ReadyHeli, don't recall who... I wish I could trade it in for an Edge. I don't want it to catch on fire. =(

Life,

If it has a red dot by the motor leads on the case and says ICE2 on the label, you're at the latest rev. Some folks have more problems than others and their experience may in some way be indicative of your future experience. That's not to say your ESC will burn, it's just saying that there are enough failures to indicate that it may happen. After your first 10 or so flights, you should be good to go for quite a while.

No red dot. But I did put the latest firmware on it. Hopefully the hardware is good?

It's not the latest, then. You need to contact Castle Creations for a possible replacement/upgrade.

this is not totally true scott. i recently has a ice2 160 without a red dot. i called CC and they told me to take the esc apart and look for the foam patch installed by the battery leads. i took it apart and it was installed. they said it was good to go then.

I did the same. It has a red foam patch inside. I'm guessing this is it?

As seen here. Ignore the yellow circles... I just grabbed this pic from another thread.

red?? mine wasnt red, i swear it was white foam. but it any kind of foam is there, then its good to go. i had a CC ice2 120 become a flame thrower. CC would not fix it or replace it, so everyone i talk to, i try to steer them away from them and no longer use them. horrible customer service when they know they have a problem. even the new Edge ESC are catching on fire. i took 3 CC esc off my helicopters and replaced them with different kinds. thankfully there was no damage to my Rush because i was just spooling up and i had the canopy off. that ESc was on my Rush for well over 100 flights, then all of a sudden, it catches fire.

Regardless, I would still call Castle to verify. It can't hurt.

Or... refer to this service advisory:

Changed one aspect.

Spectrum 6040 cyclic
Futaba BLS251 tail
Spin Blade 700 Matt Blacks
Radix 115mm
HeliCommand HC3-SX
Kontronik Helijive V13
Kontronik Pyro 750-50 Competition
Optipower Ultra 6s 5000's and 4300's

I did not think I could love the AleeS more but boy oh boy does it make me grin now.

This FBL unit is a revaluation. I rarely push my heli's and as such do not crash often. My flying is very smooth and fast but since I put this unit on I have been trying piro flips, half piro flip stops from travelling fast, funnels etc. It is just such a awesome combo that I love it.

First it was the motor and now this, I cant wait till next weekend AGAIN

We're all still waiting on the stretch. It has been completed and as far as I know it is awaiting shipping from the factory. I will definitely know more at IRCHA. Don't worry, I will be completely connected while at IRCHA and I'll let you know as soon as I know something more.

First off, I know....I am just coming from an Align 700 so I am recycling the electronics to save cash, I can swap out later.

750mx (530kv)
120 HV CC
Align HV Servos (BL700H and BL750H)
2s LiPo direct
SK540
Cyclone or Edge 693mm
Pulse 45c 5000

Will 105 tail blades work? I have 2 sets of brand new ones from the former Align 700. My target head speed will be about 2050. +-13 collective and 12 cyclic w/ 320 roll / flip rates set in the gyro. I am planning on flying some medium to hard low level smack style 3d with it.
