So I made a couple last minute changes and got all of my parts including my Rush 750 today. Here's what I've ended up with and starting the build tonight:

1. Rush 750 - non stretched
2. Scorpion HKIII-4035-500kv
3. IKON with 2 DSMX Satellites (first time trying anything other than BeastX)
4. CC Edge 160A HV ESC
5. Gryphon Quasar HV BEC
6. Optipower Ultra-Guard
7. J1S Cyclone 695mm main blades
8. Rail 116mm tail blades
9. RJX FS0521 HV Cyclic Servos (going to try these initially before the X8's)
10. MKS HV Tail Servo

Sounds good Shaun. Which MKS tail servo are you running?I have the older 669 right now. Good servo. Sounds weird when I moves but I am told that is normal. That is why I ask. Just trying to give you a heads up.

I had a brand new HBL669 that I was going to use in a previous build but never did so I figured I would try it out. I see now exactly what you were talking about with the noise and I can't stand it. This servo will have to find a new home because I can't stand that noise. It may be normal but it can be "normal" somewhere else. I've just put the BK servos on the cyclic and so far I really like them so I am going to put the BK on the tail as well and get rid of this MKS one. I'm not downing the MKS because it has operated fine and so far been mechanically sound, but I just don't prefer that noise whenever I know first hand several others that I've used in 700 size applications that make hardly any noise at all and that's what I prefer. Again, this is just a matter of preference and I'm not bashing the MKS servo line.

If the servo sounds fine out of the frame but is noisy in the frame, it's not the servo. There is a resonance that actually is amplified by the frame. It sounds grindy and gritty. If this is the noise you mention, every servo in the rudder position is going to sound like that in the frame. It is absolutely normal. You cannot hear it in flight.

It is not the frame Scott. I have tried it out of the frame. It may amplify the noise some but it is already there. Dodgeboy(Mike) had one at one point and had the same noise.

Besides that the servo is working great for me.

I have the 669 in one of my Rush's. It does sound noisy on the bench, but it's fine. Excellent servo and I can't hear it once it's spooled up

Yeah it's not as noisy out of the frame, but it's still pretty noisy. True you can't hear it once it's spooled up, but it just annoys me with how noisy it is on the ground.

Hey guys... I recently got a stretched rush and was curious as to which ESC to go with.. I was thinking either a YEP 120 or 180.. Could I get away with the 120? I have an Align 700MX 510kv for a motor and Im swinging Edge 730 mm blades. Any insight would be great!

I would not run the 120 nor the 700mx. It could work for very basic flight and hovering but the moment you decide to fly a little harder you run the risk of pushing that equipment over the edge.

160 is the standard minimum right now for a heli in the 750-800 class. Not sure what we would consider a minimum for a motor though. Any wattages I give would just be a guess so I won't.

I have not run that motor so I will not comment on it, but I do agree that running a 120 may prove to be a bad idea. I ran a CC ICE 2 120 HV and a newer CC Edge 120 HV on these bigger birds and both of them got really, really hot during basic operations. I was not tasking the systems in the slightest and they were getting worrysome hot so I was afraid to keep running them in these setups or to do any type of flying other than basic hovering or basic flight. I moved up to the CC Edge 160 HV and now the Kosmik 160 and they run much cooler and much more efficient.

I am running the Castle HV 120 and Scorpion 4035-500, 2050 RPM. I finally test flew it and I had more than enough power. I have to do a logged run to get my amp draws and temps. So far though it seems to be a solid choice for power/flight time combo. 4525 ultimate for the unstoppable power if you need or want it.

This is for a Stretched Rush 750 Dave. Those are good combos for a 700.

Thanks for the help guys.. How do you think a CC 160HV would do with the align 700MX for 3d?

Yes! As long as 160HV is either an EDGE or an ICE2.

So keeping the Align 700mx and going with a CC 160 edge would be my best bet then.. Any thoughts on YEP 180HV? Haven't heard much about them, but read quite a bit of good reviews from other hell guys.

I have not used a YEP ESC so I can't really comment. Sorry! Perhaps other folks here can chime in?

I've only ever used Castle in my life besides a couple cheapos on my 450s. Are you worried the Castle 160 wouldn't be up to the task? I have one with a powerhouse 4525-520 ultimate and it has been totally fine
