The 700MX has a 36mm shaft, it may work...

The Scorpion has a 38mm shaft.

So this should be 36mm-41mm for the required shaft length.

I was gonna go to bed 30 minutes ago, but I pulled mine apart just to verify. The 36mm 700MX shaft does indeed go into the support bearing. Not by a lot, but it certainly does extend into the lower bearing and provide enough for the pinion to rest on the bearing and fit appropriately.

Kontronik Pyro 700-52 (Long shaft)
KDE700XF-495 KDE

Any help please
I had a spare Pyro on my bench but I had cut the shaft down so its not reaching the support. I'll be replacing the shaft with a new one this week hopefully.

Most likely. I only considered the two motor shafts I know work.

My motor shaft sticks out the bottom of the bearing. That's the KDE 700XF-495.

Mike,

That is not an issue unless it rubs on something. Do you know about how much it sticks out? It would be a good gauge to see how long of a shaft is needed.

Will the scorpion hk3 530kv motor work with a 12s set up 5000mah, and the standard pinion using a scorpion esc?

I see no reason why it wouldn't, though I don't use a Scorpion ESC.

It all depends on the govenor. If its more like a helijive then no you need the 500 kv if its more like castle on its headroom then yes a 530 is perfect. 2200 is about the most headspeed you want out of a 700 size and if you can keep the motor at the top end of the governing scale then it will be much more efficient and have more torque.

I'm using the Align 700MX 530kv and the Scorpion V 130A ESC; however, I'm using the VBar governor for it's awesomeness and have never tried the Scorp gov. The governor on the Scorpion allows for much higher headspeed- 2600 rpm with a 530kv motor, down to about 2100 with the 12T pinion.

While I certainly wouldn't run it at 2600, if you're looking to go for around 2200 you'd be fine (in my opinion).
