Hey dodgeboy I noticed in a post earlier that you were putting in a v-bar I am curious to know if you notice a difference. I currently am using the Ikon fbl unit but have been wanting to try v-bar. Let me know what you think.

last night i finished set up. im waiting for a HW rpm sensor to come in so i can use the gov. i should have it dialed in by the weekend and let you know what i think.
BUT i did switch out the ar7200bx for a mini vbar on my Gaui x5 and i didnt get a "wow" factor. i did notice how much easier and better i was able to tame it down and make it feel more like the sim. that alone was the biggest difference i saw.

Default Motor Bolt Pattern

I bought at HKIII 4035-500 and the mounting holes are offset and do not line up with the motor mount. Did I buy the wrong motor?

Thanks, Tim

Are you sure you got an HKIII? I have one in mine and the motor fits perfectly.

Looks good to me. Dunno much about the Protek servos, but I hear they're really great!

Default My Rush

Had a brief first flight on Saturday with my Rush, what a great machine! Looking forward to many more. As soon as the 115s are back on stock I will replace the tail blades. I have been away from the big helis for a couple years, love the feel of those big blades!

Outstanding! We're glad you like the machine. Please let us know if you have questions, we'll all be only too glad to help! Gotta love the big blades! When I get a new ESC and motor, I'll go up to 713's on mine... then I'll be almost ready for the stretch!

Looks pretty good, although I would recommend tailblades in the 110-116mm range if you are running a 2000+ RPM headspeed

I'm probably going to go for ~2000 to get slightly longer flight times.

That works, just remember, 2200 is the sweet spot for this head on 690mm blades

In what way? To prevent wobbles, or to get max power etc? I'm not at the stage where I need all the power I can get - I'd rather longer flights to learn more.

Harry,

With the stock hard dampers, you should be fine to fly anywhere from 1800 to around 2000 without wobbles. Lower than that and it gets a bit iffy.

Hi guys,

I just pull the trigger and order a Rush and is wondering if it is ok to fly with the Heli Jive 120 BEC? Also I have an extra JR8717 possible to use it for rudder?

My setup is as follows;

Heli Jive 120 Version 11
Pyro 700 520L
JR 8717 for cyclic and rudder
Mikado mini vbar or Sk540

TIA

I doubt that 8717 will work fine for the tail simply for me, its not a tail servo!

Saeed.

First, welcome to the family!!!

Sadly, I don't think I'd use that servo for the tail or for the cyclic--note that it will work for the cyclic, but depending on your flying style, you may not like it's response. That servo is low on torque for a modern FBL helicopter. Still, if you're not a smack pilot or do hard 3D exclusively you may not notice any issue.

I would also not use the BEC as it may not be not be able to handle the current. Not knowing much about Kontronik ESC's may be limiting my answer. I'll leave a definitive answer to those who know more about Kontronik.

from what i have heard that BEC will be fine if your not a smack pilot. the size of the ESC will also be fine.

JR 8717 with 14kg or torque is not enough for FBL?

My gaui X7 come with the Gaui GS503HV only have 13kg and the Align DS610 only have 12kg and the newer DS615 have 12.8kg

As for rudder servo I can understand that the 8717 is not classified as a rudder servo but I believe most of the Savox rudder are not rudder servo as well, they are just fast servo. At 0.07 speed I thought it should be fast enough for rudder. Maybe someone can tell me what make a rudder servo another that the speed?
