Default Update Firmware for the Devo TX/RX - Import/Export Devo TX Models

  • How to Update the firmware on Devo Transmitters
  • How to Update the Devo Receiver Firmware
  • How to Import/Export Models on Devo Transmitters
I have videos on how to update the firmware on the Walkera transmitters and how to update the
firmware on the receivers for helicopters and quads that have the firmware updating feature.
I also have videos on how to back up your transmitter models to a computer file and how to load models from your
computer to your transmitter.

The Walkera UP02 Upgrade Tool is used for updating the Devo 7 firmware.
You will use the UP02 Program Upgrade Tools V1.0 software for this.

For the other Devo transmitters you will use the USB port and USB cable that came with the transmitter to update the firmware.
You will use the Devention Dfuse USB Upgrade Tools V1.5 (Devo12/S/Devo8/S/Devo10/Devo6) software for this.

For updating the RX firmware you will use the Walkera UP02 Upgrade Tool and the Walkera UP-02 adapter.
You will use the UP02 Program Upgrade Tools V1.0 software for this.

Each video will tell you what adapter (s) to use and what software to use.

I have the following Videos.
  • How to Update Devo 7 TX Firmware
  • How to Import & Export Devo 7 TX Models
  • How to Update Firmware for Devo TX w/USB Port
  • How to Import/Export Models for Devo TX w/USB
  • How to Update Walkera Receiver Firmware
I updated the firmware on my Devo 7.
My Devo 10 has the newest version firmware but I updated it agin to make the how to video.
I updated the RX firmware on my Hoten-X, Ladybird, and Mini CP.
I imported and exported models on my Devo 7 and Devo 10.

I am using Windows 7 32 bit. Both of the Walkera software is working well.

Here is where to download the firmware and models: http://www.walkera.com/

Here is where I got the UP02 Upgrade Tool/UP-02 Adapter.

the update procedure for devo 10 is absolutely retarded and can't be done as there is no driver available, yet they say it can be updated so much for the 21 century technology.

The update procedure for the Devo 10 does work.
My video "How to Update Firmware for Devo TX w/USB Port" is using my Devo 10.

The DfuSe USB Upgrade software also contains the driver.
The driver files are located in the Driverfolder in your installed path
(C:\Program files\devention Upgrade Tools).

In the DfuSe USB Upgrade user manual v1.4 see the section
"6.2 Hardware installation section" on page 11/20.
This will show you how to load the driver so you can do the update.

You can also download the user manual in my first post above.

The Devo 8s manual talks about a USB file system and that it can be accessed through the usb port.

From the manual
USB & File-system
Deviation stores all configuration, bitmaps, and models as regular files on the USB file-
system.
USB can be most easily enabled by holding down the ‘ENT’ button while powering up
the transmitter. Files can then be easily copied to or from the Tx

I have not found how to do this , please explain in more detail.

Question can templates be added using this function?

Ref your upload and download models, a newbi clarification, works well but you show but don't say that the file creation mus be a dot bin file

Wish list ,,, an explanation of switch re assignments.

Great work keep it up and thank you again.

Default Not able to get model

Hi I followed the instructions in the "How to update receiver firmware" but I can' t get to the "Getting device information step". The UP02 program shows the screen in the attached photo, then I connect the cable with my mini-cp, then the battery but nothing happens. The receiver blinks slowly.

Another oddity, my up02 adapter has two identical 3 hole plugs, there is no red-yellow-black plug, but two blue-red-black plugs. So I tried inverting both combinations.

Any bright ideas?

I solved my own problem by connecting the connectors to the right plugs... I misread the instructions in my manual.

Got a question.. not sure where to ask so here I am...

I have a Devo 8....I just got a Devo 8S. I want to use the 8 as a back up, and the 8S as my primary. Since the 8 just doesnt have the module for telemetry that makes it an 8S, will these two be able to copy to each other?
With my 2801's, I have three, two ae back ups for my primary Tx, but I've never needed the back ups...but they all keep the same updated models in the memories just in case. This is what I want for the 8 and 8S.
Right now, the 8 is loaded with Deviation, the 8S is new. I assume I'd have to revert the 8 back to stock firmware.
Thanks in advance for any help.

ok, I have the UP02 adapters finally and have logged in to Walkera's website. It looks totally different from whats in your video so I assume they updated their site. Now for the question, where do I find the rx firmware and update tools? EIther they have gone to some lengths to hide that section of the site or I am blind (possible) help!

Maybe start a new thread about deviation. This thread is about updating the Devo 7 and receivers using official Walkera firmware.

And I can't answer your question because I have only ever had v4.

Default Firmware Question

Hello. First post here. This is a great site with lots of info. Seems like some good folks on here.

My son has a Walkera QR X350 and a Devo 7. I would like to update both. Stupid question: There are several, successive firmware updates for the QR X350. Do I need to upload them each in order, or does each successive update include all of the new features of the prior updates, so, if I use the latest firmware update I get all the features of all previous updates?

Thanks in advance.

Yep, the latest should work and contain all prior updates.

Default Updated Firmware

We successfully updated the firmware to version 1.3. What a huge difference. The Walkera was almost "unflyable" before. Now, it is a pleasure to fly. Very easy to control. No drift. The return to home function works very well. If you have not updated your Walkera firmware, I would suggest you do.

Default looking for factory parameters for devo7/QR-X350

I was reading this forum and this seems like a good place to ask this, I am looking to get the factory parameter file for the devo 7 remote that runs the QR-X350. I messed mine up trying to install a servo to move the camera up and down. if anyone can send me the file it would be so great as my functions no longer work.

Hello

Have the same issue here...The new walkera website dosn"t show the firmware file download option anymore. I found a v7 firmware and a v2 lib file but after returning from the devo back to original firmware I get font errors making the firmware unusable.

Does anyone have the loader software? It seems like Walkera removed it from their website. If anyone has it and would like to forward it to me send it to poulinphotography at gmail dot com. Thank You!
