Exclamation Tired of breaking Nano Canopies.....

I got tired of the crappy canopy breaking all the time... This one you can step on it and it still won't break... and it's half the price of the original... Feels lighter, but could be wrong...

It looks good. Did you have to make new holes?

Did you have to modify it at all and where did you get it?

Zooming in on the pic, it looks like you only have to punch the front holes, unless you want the canopy shifted forward or back.

Sorry to contradict you mate, but new holes will have to be made both top and bottom.

If you look at the side on pic of the nano bellow, you'll notice that the canopy mounting posts are are further forward than the body mount hole on the Mini CP Canopy.

http://www.bigbluehobbies.com/blade-nano-cp-x/

I've ordered one though, The stock canopy is just to flimsey for my liking.

I have owned a Mini CP and that black canopy is hard to see.

The V2 Genius Cp canopy is the same size and it is a nice bright yellow/orange.

Here's one for spooky time!

Some good info on alternate canopies here:

https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...ghlight=canopy

http://www.hacksmods.com/2012/09/bla...o-cp-x-canopy/

I bought (Ebay $3.25 w/free shipping) the black and orange V911 canopy (looks a bit Fusuno-ish!) and it fits nicely with no mods. The top holes of the canopy mounts perfectly but the bottom ones don't. You can drill new holes for the bottom ones or just leave it off as the bottom of the fuse hugs snugly against the battery tray.

Nice tips guys!

I coated the inside of the stock canopy with liquid shrinkwrap, which makes it much more durable. It gets a bit banged up, but does not crack.

Liquid Shrinkwrap??? Now where would I get some of that then??? That sounds like a great idea!!!

My Mini CP canopy came today in the mail, only ordered it yesterday at 16:10, so I'm impressed by the quick service. (Buzzflyer.co.uk) I'm at my GF's this weekend, so I can't try the canopy for size, but I'm sure that the Mini CP canopy is a bit bigger over all, compared to the stock Nano, and certainly a bit wider. it may have to be squished a bit to use the mounting pins on the stock frame. I'll report more tomorrow night.

Cheers!!

Shoe Goo or some kind of strong "normal tape" would also work. It's just to get it beefed up a little!

Didn't notice any difference. It's a bit aggressive though, so it might show through the yellow paint - just so U know...

That is the fun of the Nano. Beat the heck out of it and don't break much.

Default mini CP canopy fited

Hey all,

I've fitted the mini CP canopy to the Nano. I'm pretty happy with the way it's turned out, but the mini CP canopy is a little bit thicker plastic, and slightly larger in size than the stock Nano one, so it is a little heavier. I don't have good enough scales to check, but I think it adds an extra 0.5g - 1g.

The mini CP canopy, is a few mils wider either side than stock the one, so it does have to be squished a bit to fit onto the stock canopy pins, but there's plenty of flex in the canopy, so it's not a problem. I've trimmed a bit off the rear of the canopy as I didn't want those original mounting holes spoiling the look.
