Ha! I thought that at first (I wanted a squadron!) though now I'd honestly be happy with about four.

My current two and maybe an 425mm bird (fake 500?) and X7 (expensive but pretty ).

There is a general thought that too many heli's can take you away from your core flying as you're always learning new birds idiosyncrasies rather than moving constantly forward. I've read this on quite a few occasions and it possibly holds true if your birds are very different.

I wouldn't buy a FB heli in a fit as it's old tech now. Like buying a car with a carby.

More power, less weight in the head, better wind tolerance, better performance, simpler rebuilds and setups...the list goes on.

For 500X money, definitely consider the Gaui X5 FES super combo. Seriously good heli and a really nice size IMHO...mine was $905 (or $915...can't quite remember) ready to fly with the AR7200BX...simple build, quality all the way and it flys very impressively indeed IMHO.

i was thinking about getting the blade 500x ... but then i found this.

TREX 500E PRO DFC Super Combo: http://www.performanceplusrc.com/ser...PRO-DFC/Detail

You can order it without the 3GX and knock off $70, then buy a BEASTX. And that would still cost about the same as the 500x

I would just have to build it ... but thats fun for me and i would probably take apart the blade 500 anyways .. i dont trust HH's building skills ... im pretty sure they rush too much and a 500 could hurt if a bolt flew out mid flight.

So

Im saving for a trex 500 dfc beastx

Same here, I got tired of waiting for the 500X and decided to build from a kit. I was considering that same heli (Align PRO 500 DFC) with an AR7200X but ultimately went with an Atom 500. I also considered the Gaui X5 but I decided it might be better to gauge how the neighborhood in the public park I fly take to the 500 first

You will not regret going with a kit (any kit)... especially if you are in this hobby for the long run. You learn a lot and get more satisfaction from building a kit especially if you like playing legos or tinker toys as a kid Of course kits are not for everyone, many prefer flying more than building.

I like flying a little more than building. But I have a mechanic in my blood coming from my father so I like building too

This thread is quickly approaching the record for the longest "picture" thread that doesn't have a single picture, let alone a pic of the heli in question!

I have the blade 500-3d as well as the new 500X as of last weekend. The 500x has the same motor as the 500 3d and the 500x is the same concept as the 450x as well as the 300x. same set up except servo layout. I have not had any problems with the 500 3d or the 500x as I have 6 flights on each one and I enjoy the 500x more so than the 3D version as I prefer the flybarless. The 550X will be in for pickup in 2 weeks and I cant wait to get this and try it out.

That website in my link must be censored for some reason, I'll see if I can find another. But that link of yours is the same place 'his' picture was taken.

I'll see if I can find another link.
