Default R9 with bd3sx

I have several helis set up with r7 and Bavarian demon axon units, all set up single wire through the ex port. I am trying to use a r9 receiver with an older bd 3sx and cannot get the units to communicate through the single wire Ex setup . I can get the bd 3sx unit to see the tx inputs if I use the cable loom, Iím pretty sure I tried all possible setting combinations in the software for the single wire setup. Any ideas

I doubt the 3sx supports EX-bus but should work if you set the Rx to output PPM with a single wire output. It may support UDI which is a better option to PPM but I am not sure.

I believe UDI does not come out of the ext pin, but the one next to it. I haven't used it in a long while.
