Unfortunately, I couldn't find the straps at RH. I think I got mine from another, very large site online.

I was considering two large straps that went around both batteries rather than strapping in each individually. I would also have velcro underneath that would hold them in place while strapping and stop lateral movement.

I always try RH first, but a link anywhere is fine.

Here you go...

http://www.experiencerc.com/store/lo...ge-p-6796.html

I wouldn't use just two straps... using four will hold the packs much better--I use velcro on the battery trays, too. If you skimp here, you're asking for ruined batteries in a crash or worse.

If you decide to use just two...

http://www.experiencerc.com/store/sc...xl-p-9736.html

Just remember, we don't recommend using just two straps.

OK, I won't just use two then. Glad I asked.

The RC Logger straps work really well. They use the sticky type backing just like the mikado straps. And they are at ReadyHeli

I also use three on each pack. I might as well since it comes with 3. It takes longer to install/remove the batteries but they are on there solid when i'm throwing the heli around!

I need to get back to this build thread. I've been collecting horns, extensions, heat shrink and such so that I can finish up.

When I was finally ready to fire up the VBAR, it would not connect to my PC. I at first thought the worst but it turned out a simple reboot cured it. Not sure what that was all about. Of course I didn't figure that out till a day later.

I also had a problem with my elevator servo and it turned out that some doofus plugged the servo connector into the extension backward then hid it under nicely trimmed sheathing and ties. I was thinking it could only plug in the right way. No excuse for not noticing the wire colors didn't match.

So, while I was troubleshooting the servo problem, the same doofus drained my Scorpion Backup Guard.

This was such a great build and it went so well, I guess I was due for some stupid problems. Hopefully I've got that all out of my system now.

LMAO....speaking of doofuses... I planted my 700N 2 weeks ago doing an inverted auto and firmly believing I was Kammerer Jr. In any case, took me a while to get the stupid pipe off the heli because I was trying to save the header and just take the pipe part off. I gave up and just took the whole thing off and put it aside.

A few nights later, in a Johnie Walker induced stupor, I walked into my office and noticed my 700N laying there in pieces and figured I should put it back together. I very diligently re-assembled the tail case with the old notchy bearings, and put the old bent links back on...of course I made sure they were the "correct" size using my calipers.

Next day, after recovering from a brutal hangover, I walked back into my office and could not contain the laughter. What gave it away right away is that my pancaked Hatori pipe was very neatly installed back on the helicopter, along with all the other broken or bent parts.

So yeah, I've instructed my wife to keep me away from any tools or helis if I ever have that much JW again.

Rick I don't get the green USB on the vbar software a lot when I plug in the USB. (With vbar not powered up it shows a green USB next to the red connected when you plug the USB in)

Sometimes I can leave the USB plugged in and just close/open the vbar software but other times I have to unplug USB cable and restart the software. I never have to reboot. "Silverline and mini black both"

I use these straps, they come 25 to a pack, total cost shipped is $38, that is $1.52 each strap, but you can never have too many velcro straps. I use them on all of my helis...

Thanks. I tried restarting the vbar SW multiple time. I tried reseating the cable multiple times. I tried rebooting the VBAR multiple times. I even tried another heli. Thats when I realized the problem was on the PC end. I'll watch for it now.

Cool. I bought 6 of the Scorpion jobbers so I'm good to go.
