Well, here's another beginner video from yours truly. Gotta show everyone the low end of the skill tree.

Towards the end of the video I decided to try a few punchouts to see what the rate of climb was. I like! I've been flying a few packs thru the 130x and then a pack thru the 450x to get comfortable.

To celebrate my 1th year of flying I decided to hit up the 1th Annual RC Heli Nation Fun Fly in Deer Park, Washington with a couple buddies from our local club. We had a blast. Kudos to the RCHN crew for putting on an outstanding event. If any of y'all aren't familiar with RCHN I highly recommend checking out their weekly podcast: http://www.rchelination.com/

Anyway, as is my routine I managed to do a bunch of flights and get no video of any of them. Until I decided to man up and ask a friend to do the honors. As is also my routine, every filmed flight of mine must involve an epic crash. This one on pavement. Enjoy.

Nice flying guys.

Hey hemp, what's that weird sound? Was it your tail gain? I get the same sound but mine always held great with no bounce back and nailed the stops.

Some one was telling me my tail gain was off.

That was tail jitter under heavy load, probably caused by the gain being too high. I've actually never bothered to set up my BeastX parameters - just fly it like it is and cheer on the little bugger when it gets unhappy (which you could hear in the video.) I figure if the heli provides tail crack then I don't have to learn how to do it.

I probably should get it flying right; maybe I wouldn't crash quite as often. I'm just not a tweaker by nature so I have to force myself to do it.

You can hear the same jitter in Huma's video at the top of the page, too.

Almost like tire chatter when a car is understeering through a corner.

Yep, I heard something but I'm new to 450 size helis so I wasn't sure what it was. Still flys nice but I guess I'll notice more the more aggressive I fly once I get comfortable.

Yep, same here. This is how it was setup out of the box. For sport flying she's setup ok. Once I start asking more of it I'll have to give the BeastX a once over. I still need to get a pitch gauge and swash leveling tool and whatever other tools I'll need to give it a good once over to fine tune it.

Test hover in cul de sac. Still have a slight tail wag when changing pitch direction. Happens at 1:02 and various other times during the video. Slight hard landing at the end.

Blade 450X (2 min 48 sec)

Besides the BeastX stuff there's also the belt tension and blade balance

My last Fly-In a person just posted a vid from it and they caught some of my flying in the beginning of there vid.
For the people that don't know. I'm the one in the wheelchair. Flying sitting down is different I'm told.
