Here's one...

I used two layers of 4011 to hold it in place. It's not going anywhere. I mounted it here because it's the best place I could find for complete vertical/horizontal polarity while keeping diversity.

The other one is on the far frame right above the word "frame" you can see it if you look closely.

Thanks,

We think similarly. Top the boom was where I was considering as well for the same reasons. I can't pick out where the second one is...

Thanks, now I see it.

With both sats in back, if you were nose in, wouldn't they both be blocked by the heli to a great extent. That's the stuff I'm struggling with. My Logos were plastic frame so it didn't seem as critical to me.

I have flown my Rush with the Vortex in it ten times (that's with the current sat locations) and I have yet to get an antenna switch count. So, there you go. The lower sat has its active element in the clear of the lower portion of the frame, too.

Right behind the battery, but this pic is with an AR7200BX, I am switching to Sk540 with 2 sats. I may put the second on the read tray like Scott showed.

One sat for AR7200BX. Just sticking out enough for clearance.

You need to retool to cut CF, you can get CF stock at McMaster Carr cheap. That is what I used for making the T-Rex 450 Receiver Platforms that I used to sell before the V3 model.

If it is so important, how come I can't find the info on Spektrum's site anywhere? Even their videos on placement don't talk about it.

As you look at a sat with the molded logo upright and the connector facing you, the active element is on the left side. The right side element is the ground plane reference.

This is what I go by. It hasn't been challenged to my knowledge:

Lexan is perfect for what I have in mind because it's not conductive.

That is some cool stuff you made, by they way!

CF dust is not a happy dust. Not interested in having it in my home shop. I mill daily.

I wanted two spots that would always provide direct line of sight with at least one antennae that would also allow the sats to be mounted at 90 degree apposing planes. I also wanted to get the antennas away from the conductive CF to avoid interaction.

This is what I came up with:

What do you think?

Rick
