Default Which canopy mounts?

Which canopy mounts and where to buy?

I've seen a bunch of threads and it looks like there are some good options out there. What are your preferences? Has anybody tried more than one kind? Are these things heavy enough to affect your COG?

I like Mikado mounts as well, are they an option?

Thanks
Rick

Rick,

I've only used the stock mounts and the RCBooya mounts on mine (I went back to stock because I want to fly mine as close to box stock as is possible). I have no experience with the Mikado mounts. The RC Booya mounts worked fine and I noticed no appreciable difference in CG, but I use the grip-grab-and-tilt horizontal method so it's not as precise as a bubble level.

I'm using the RC-Booya's on the Rush. The stock grommets were splitting on me, and I feel more confident that the Booya's will not come off in flight.

How are you looking to attach? Thumb screws or quick release?

I use these on my 750. $10.99 for the set of 4. Direct fit, no modifications. I also use these grommets. much thicker and longer lasting than the stock grommets.

I think I have an extra set of canopy mounts and grommets if interested Rick. I will check when I get home.

OK, that makes sense.

Thanks. I'm going to do something. I've give this thread a chance to generate a few more recommendations then buy what I need.

Thanks much Bryan. You guys in the forum are awesome! I really appreciate the offer. Keep your stuff as spares, you may need them. I'm glad to buy whatever seems like the best system. I'm willing to consider either Thumb screws or quick release.

Rick

They are. Are they heavier or lighter than the booyas?

They look almost identical besides being silver instead of black.

I was confused. I thought the booyas were screw on. I see now the screw ons were: Lynx : Outrage Velocity 50 Canopy Rod Set LX0118.

Looks like the weight difference between the screw ons and snap ons is minimal.

For 18 years I drove tanks and I can tell you THAT is a high vibe environment. For securing things like engine decks the tank used pip-pins ie the RC Booya type and we never lost one pin. Once on, these suckers do not come off unless you want them too and they are soo easy to get on/off. I now use the RC Booyas on both my Rush and Fusion. Love em. I cant see these items have any effect on the heli's CoG or overall weight as the %age is so small compared to the heli's overall weight.

Thanks. That helps.
