Default Help with ZYX-S gyro and spektrum receiver

Ok, I'm attempting to build my first real heli. I have a 450 Pro FBL. I have the servos centered and installed and am at the stage where I need to connect the gyro and receiver. On recommendation, I purchased a Spektrum AR6210 receiver with satellite and a Tarot ZYX-S gyro. My first mistake was assuming that there would be decent instructions included with these items but the problem is that the documentation to show how it all goes together is really lacking for someone who has never done this before. Both the gyro and the receiver have slots for the servo connections but they can't go in both... so where do they go?? How does the wiring go together here? Where do you plug in the ESC... gyro or receiver? Sorry for the newbie questions.

I've scoured the web looking for the answer before posting and am blue in the face tired of searching... help.... please

here are a few resources to help you out:

The software has visual diagrams as you you set up the gyro. You should not be plugging your servos in until the gyro has been setup with the software or the program box. I would not recommend trying to program this gyro with the sticks... way to complex for that.

Long story short, your 4 servos get plugged into ZYX ch 1 thru 4, your rx gets jumpers wires from rx rudder to zyx rudder, rx elev to zyx elev.... and so on.

Thanks Firedoug,

I was starting to think I was the only one who's had this question.

Yeah, I have the PDF downloaded and printed, but nowhere does it go through the actual connection of the wires and which goes where. Thanks for clearing it up. I also found another thread yesterday with someone else asking the same question and there are a number of good posts on that thread with links for additional info about the ZYX.

Thanks for the heads-up on programming the gyro before connecting the servos. I ordered the program box last week and should be here tomorrow.

When you are using Satellite only(directly connected to ZYX-S) on ZYX-S, you will need to bind the satellite to the transmitter using the full receiver(not on ZYX-S) before you can use it on ZYX-S. It is not described anywhere in the manual.

Binding can be done through the ZYX-S. it is described in the software for PC. You need two bind plugs, but all described for you.

thanks nameci.
Binding isn't the problem... I have that done. It was how do you actually make all the connections from the servos to gyro to reciever.

I have it all figured out now.

Thanks again everyone!
