Default New Radio, How much setup?

My dx6i broke a week ago and I picked up a used duplicate to use until the Taranis arrives and I find a module for it. My question is, can I just duplicate the settings from the old radio and go fly, or should I go through part, or all, of the beastx setup? I did search in here for examples but didn't find anything in the first few pages of results. This radio is dsm2 while my old one was dsmx. It has flown my 130x and mcpx-bl without issue, but I'm more cautious with the 450x.

Thanks,

I'd just follow the settings in the manual for the DX6i. That's what I did, and presumably what you did on your original one.

If you did anything special (like tail gain) then you will have to adjust the new one too. But I am thinking these DX6is are pretty much all alike. Just be sure you start with a new model memory to insure all trims are 0.

Thanks. Yes, I started with the stock settings and moved from there. I was most concerned about whether cyclic and rudder end points would stay the same. I lowered the tail gain a little and moved to radio dual rates. Other than that it is stock. I will set throttle end points like the other one was and see if the escape will initialize. The one thing I will for sure change is to make both normal and stunt modes have full pitch range so I don't flip it with no negative pitch.

Hovered it out in the street with the new radio. Everything worked fine and I didn't have to change a thing. Life is good!
