That's interesting. 5.0 Express is crippled. I wonder how much the upgrade to full 5.0 will cost? Hopefully not $100. We'll soon find out I guess. It's almost mid July.

Short summary of new functions for the people who don't go in detail through the featurematrix.
New in V.5.0
Note: No PDA software for the v.5.0.

Can somebody tell me what these two features or improvements mean? Can this solve binding issues on non-Logo heli's? For example. The VBar 4.0 is actually based on a certain cheometry. Not all heli's have that same cheometry. I most cases I have seen you can get into trouble with binding and such. I hope this will add something new to it...

Binding issues has always been able to be fixable, im v5 its easier, plus binding at min/max pitch is less on the bench (never happen in flight even in v4)

You can calculate your cheometry to find the best match. But it would be nice if you could program your own cheometry into the VBar. Another thing I'm strugling with is the cheometric correction. As you know, when you have it enabled on a non-Logo heli you can get asymetrical collective and cyclic pitch. You can fix that by changing your endpoints and such. When you disable it you get binding even quicker because the then the pitch is way to high. Any suggestions? When I see a Logo flying with a VBar it flies awesome. But other models with a VBar just don't seem to fly that way. That is my personal opinion though. Hope you can share your thoughts about it.

Binding in servo cases etc really only matters if the total throw on the blades are less than 17-18 degree total (collective + cyclic) after that the blades will stall anyway, simply put it NEVER happens inflight unless your digging the heli out of s hole in the ground.
Geometry correction should be ON for all non mechanical mixing helis, period. Else you get interaction. V5 is better thow, cyclic ring is cone shaped, meaning less binding on bench. |

good comparison. In 4.0 , I can't seem to be able to adjust the tail servo center ( 90 degrees to pushrod) in same manner as the expert level swash ccpm buttons. Is 5.0 have the center centering button ?, or do I have to look for a servo arm that is closest to 90 degrees. I've tried subtrims on Futaba 10CHG, but it doesn't do anything to servo center.

Old Mini: Analog Devices
New Mini: InvenSense ( I think) Both are MEMS, different manufacturer, different spec, different price |

I'm a beginner, and am about to set up my Trex 700 gasser with the V-bar. I am wondering if it is best for me to get v5.0 installed and use that when I do the initial setup?
Is it in anyway easier or simpler to setup and use then 4.0? Anything that can simplify or make easier to understand for a beginner is very valuable to me.

The gui is much more intuitive with images explaining what you should do in each step.
So I would definitly upgrade first. |

Are there any downsides to the older black mini Vbar? I am planning on upgrading to the 5.0 pro software and using it on my new trex 550e. Please advise if the new bluline one is actually better and worth any difference in price. The black one I am contemplating is also spektrum satellite ready too.

You cant, mechanicially only, select correct horn and adjust pushrod for adjusting tail

It doesn't have to be perfect with a heading hold gyro anyway. I never center my tail servo, either with a VBar or a regular tail gyro, and have never had a problem as long as I get it as close as I can mechanically.

1) Is there difference in flight between "VBar Regular (black)" and "VBar Regular (BLUEline)" ?
2) Is possible that old sensor in BlackLine is better than sensor BlueLine ? Thanks |
