Again how do I know if you actually didnt have a zero value, you may have shut the throttle and the motor went to zero for a fraction of a second, remember that this is not Heli only software and the above scenario would be valid for a plank. Its whole lot more difficult to recognise spikes that fall within a valid range than it is to recognise spikes that fall outside the valid range.

Everything is possible and its something I could look at in future, but at the moment it would fall into the catagory of 'nice to have' when there are other changes that have been identified as 'must have', so these are where my time is currently spent.

Default Version 1.2

Version 1.2 Available here :-

http://boxhillheliclub.co.uk/wp-cont...etryReader.zip

Updates

New Functionality
Added support for Jet Cat Sensor

Fixes
1. Minor fixes to code in GForce sensor, but still haven't got any TLM files containing data to test it, so it may not behave as expected. If any one has a TLM file can you please post it.

Now might be a good time to make this thread a "Sticky"

A sticky would be good, however, would it be better if a sticky was created following the next version which should have most major issues fixed and I'll create a new clean thread with a user guide, etc that can be stickied.

I've been donated a TLM file with GForce data and it behaves reasonably apart from the fact I forgot that you can have negative G's, so you get a lot of very high positive spikes, so there will be another version with a fix next week.

Mods, I've created a new clean thread here :-
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...00#post5025300

If you could make this new thread a sticky as per the requests in this thread I'd be greatful.

Thanks Kevin

Default New sticky thread

A new sticky thread has been created here:-

https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...00#post5025300

I'll post revisions and updates to the software in new thread.

but can you use this existing thread for general discussion, highlight errors, make suggestions etc. So that we keep the sticky as clean as possible.

Kevin

Default New Spektrum telemetry log viewer application

My thanks again for all your work. I am still working noise issues. After improving on the Compass I took and put the telemetry (pac volts, temp. & rpm) leads that were already separated in braided shield. Looked good. Noise went through roof. Worst ever. Caused constant alarms in radio! Ok pulled the rpm sensor back out by itself still bad, maybe slightly better. Redid wiring and put master and slave power leads in shielding and telemetry in old bundle as before. Same noise BUT noticed 0 rpm very clean. No spikes there as before. Thinking i did something to rpm sensor so have one on way. Will advise!

I received my EagleTree RPM sensor.

Here is my RPM graph (shame about the zero spikes):

It would be really nice to have a filter which throws away a user selectable number of zero consecutive samples.
In my case I get blips of 2 consecutive zero samples occasionally.

Cheers
Steve

Steve

We've already had the discussion regarding zero spikes a few posts back, its a difficult one as you dont know which are real and which are not, as you have to remember that this is not just a heli app and zero throttle would be valid on a plank.

Its something thats on the list from previous posts i will have a think about.

Kevin

OK, no worries Kevin.

By using a filter that you have to turn on then that takes care of helis vs planks

Also by only throwing away a certain number of samples (like 2 in my case), you still get your real zero throttle when you take off and land, buy you throw away blips

For some reason ALL my samples come in duplicate pairs, including the voltage and rx readings. I don't know if this is normal or not? Guess it could be due to using a satellite?

It sounds simple but its not. As you not only have to look at whats been happening before the spike down, you have to look at what happens following the spike and then decide what to do.
You either have to decide what value to replace the spike with, to keep the time in sync or remove the spike & time as well, which requires a rewrite of the data in memory, which impacts performance quite badly if you have a lot of spikes.

I've played around with both schemes on a few samples and you start to get some weird results around true zero with option 1 or major performance hit with option 2.

Not to say it can't be done but requires more thought.

Kevin

OK, I see what you're saying.

Do you know if it's possible convert to/from ascii format so that I can pre-process the values and remove the zero samples?

You can export to a CSV file via the file menu options and then import it into something like MS Excel or other Spreadsheet where you can remove the offending entries and then graph the data in the spreadsheet
