Default What is the output signal of the current sensor?

How does the current sensor communicate with the logger? Does the sensor output a continuous voltage proprtional to the current? Or is it a PWM signal more like used to control a servo? I ask in case I can use the current sensor to link direct to an oscilloscope (requires voltage input I believe) to measure brief current spikes.

The sensor used is an AllegroMicro current sensor and they output voltage proportional to the current. Half the supply voltage (i.e., 2.5V normally) is output for 0A so it can measure both positive and negative current. There may be filtering on the output that lowers the bandwidth (without that the bandwidth is very high compared to what the logger can sample, > 100 kHz as I recall).

Thanks Lars. A very helpful explanation.
