Default DX6i trim tabs click but don't change anything

Radio is only a few months old and I've had it set up for Trex 450 and until today, haven't had a need to even check the trim tabs. Got new plane in the air and tried to input some up elevator and left aileron and neither trim button is changing anything. They're clicking and feel like they are working but no beeps and no change in radio. The throttle and rudder work just fine.
Is it possible that both buttons went out at the same time and they've not even been used before?

Not sure in the DX6i, but in the DX8 there is a setup function where you define the "step" of the single trims. If set to zero it would behave exactly like you say.

If yours is still under warranty start a claim. I had one that did that. Never been one that feared taking something apart so I opened the case up and found the wires loose on the circuit board side. Probably had been like that since I bought it, but had never used the trim switches until much later. Simple and lucky fix in my case, but if your warranty is still good - start there just to be safe.
