Yeah where do I adjust the HS? I go to Model>Edit>Main Rotor> Rotor Governor>

And I try to set 5500 HS, and it wouldn't let me. Why? What am I suppossed to do? My real 250 is 5500 HS

How high does it let you go to? Maybe 5500 on a 250 isn't a good idea? What is the typical headspeed?

Not a heli but I'm working on a few. I recently picked up a 30% MX2 in the Gary Ward scheme so I made a variant for Phoenix. Will post up the helis as they get done.

Thanks Jagged. Any idea what's going on with the floor/canopy on the extra#MX2?

Here's a recent pic of the 100% reference kicking into a side slide.

Shimmering floor boards work around: edit moedl to use another color scheme such as default and then load the "MX2-GW" scheme. I think you need to do this every time you load the model.

Hey pitchp, switch off the governor and set the headspeed by upping the motor RPM and adjusting the gear ratio on the main gear, by doing this you can get higher headspeeds, but obviously they'll be ungoverned so you might need to play with your throttle and pitch curves a bit to get an even headspeed across your pitch range.

I haven't flown a 250 model so can't say specifically what you'll need. The Phoenix default motor rpm is 36000 rpm I think, this is equivalent to around a 3400kv motor on 3s I think. Up the RPM value to reflect your motor kv and adjust the gear ratio to match your main to pinion gear ratio, this should get you the same headspeed as your 250. Since the gov is off you'll need to set appropriate throttle curves to maintain the HS across your pitch range.

Hope this helps, i'm no expert!

Here is my 250 variant, it's quite close to real thing in FF/circuits. Hover, I don't think Phoenix is capable of simulating realistic hover when it comes to small helis, they always drift too much and have some sort of "low gravity" lag.

If someone has any tips, let me know (my tx, weather, sim etc. are set up properly)

For those that are interested, hereís what I changed in the Model Edit variables:

Front Cyclic Response = .005
Lateral Cyclic Response = .005
Control Expo = (all 0, controlled on my DX6i)
Cyclic Tuning = 150%
Tail Power Tuning = 100%
Knife Edge Tuning = 110%
Hovering Stability = 200%

I think these settings better reflect the built-in auto stabilization.

Hi, I copied the attached file in the variants\helicopters folder and changed the extension to pxv. I see the heli on the menu, but Phoenix quits when I select it and hit the 'Finished' button. (Phoenix V3.0p)

Any ideas? Thanks.

V2 of my 250 variant. I must say I am quite happy with it, it's very close to my real 250.
I fly it with 10% aile/elev expo on the radio.
It's for 3.0p
If someone could make a proper 250 sound...

I've had 8 different kinds of 250s, and they all had a distinct sound. I'm guessing the one who made the 250 sound for the current phoenix was similar to his 250?? I had a 250 with plastic blades, and that one came close to the sound of the 250 model in phoenix. You may need to make a new one with the 205d blades.

I'll get pro mic and good recorder and sample it when it gets warmer. 250 on sim doesn't sound anywhere close to my 250.

Guys, Anyone have a variant for an Align 450 V2 or Sport. I want to make sure I know what to expect before taking my new bird out...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
