Thnx ,

I used 1520 / 200 Hz for the maiden , gonna change it to 330 .
Maiden went well , no obvious problems .
One thing that I noticed , there is some play in the tail :

The ttube crown wheel can be moved in and out after everything is installed .
I gues there need to be some shims to be placed between the crownwheel and the bearings in the tailcase .
Anyone else has seen this ?

Thanks

I had to use one of the included shims for the tail shaft in between the gear and tail case. It was a little tough to get in there and ligned up, but it took care of the play.

No need for shims, the whole assembly is captured.

@ Funkey :

Yes , I also used a shim on the tailshaft , but its the other umbrellagear that has some play in the direction along with the Ttube .

@ Brian

It's caged , but I like to see some shims there so it can't move .

Just purchased the 700X combo kit today - very impressed.
My question: what are folks planning to use to power the electronics? A bec, or separate battery such as a LiFe pack?
My initial thought is to use a 2100 mAh, 2 cell LiFe. If you are planning to use a separate battery, any recommendation on the install location would be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

If you got the combo I suggest a lipo pack. The servos are all HV

I will take pictures of my battery setup when I get home. I use 1350 mah lipo pack.

Yes, I guess being HV servos, might as well take advantage of a higher voltage. This is also true for the tail servo - no 'step down' required?

Does the basic 700x kit (not combo) include main and tail blades? Thanks.

Cheers,
TomC

Hey zoomtt, any chance you have those pics of your 700x with the lipo pack for the electronics? Just want to get an idea of how you mounted it. Thanks.

2s lipo max. 3s and you'll get the smoke...

The connector for the ESC is not included.
