Hero 3 Silver. The first I posted was recorded in 720 at 60FPS, the second was 720 at 30FPS.

Both videos were recorded with the GoPro mounted in its waterproof case, I haven't tried the mount that comes with the QX yet, but will on my next outing to compare.

I think the higher frame rate gives the better result for sure. I will give that a go. Thanks.

Agreed so far. I plan to test other resolutions, and protune as well, but right now i'm pretty happy with 720/60.

When filming in 720/60, does it play back at that speed or at 30 fps? How do you set up the video to play slomo or regular speed?

Maiden flight

Maiden flight for my new Blade 350 QX (4 min 51 sec)

Managed a quick flight yesterday just as it was getting dark, have mounted camera pointing forward and downwards, which I think looks really good as an angle, took some stills as well which came out well - need to fly it in proper sunshine, but happy with this as a nice quick video to show the 350QX.

UPDATE: managed to get out again this evening (9/19) just as light was fading, but tried another height video, and went a bit higher, I could still see the quad well enough to fly down if needed, but as it was windy I figured that was brave enough, will wait for a calm sunny day to try higher.

if you download windows movie maker 2012 (latest version, its free from microsoft, you may need to uninstall a previous version first to install latest), its great for gopro video's you can drag the mp4's straight in, and they play at normal speed by default (even if 60/120/2450fps), but you can adjust playback speed of clips down to 1/8, and it will use the extra frames if available, 240fps at 1/8 speed looks superb, I did a quick test video with kids on trampoline when my gopro arrived which turned out really well.

I thought iMovie was bundled with Mac and could do simple editing - you may have to use the free gopro cineform software to convert from mp4 to avi? format first, or you can pickup final cut pro for a couple of thousand dollars that definitely does everything

iMovie is what I use most of the time. Simple, lightweight, and tons of features for a piece of bundled software.
Vids can be imported directly from the camera into the application with no pre-conversion necessary.

Do you mean to say I can simply open a video in iMovie? It seems to want me to create a project then import it.

Apple discontinued Final Cut Express and replaced it with Final Cut Pro but kept the $299 express price tag!

I guess that's the cost of a few Latte's for the average Mac owner

I'm fine with free PC software for now, the most I'd go would be Sony Home Studio which I think is about $50.

@Pixeltim, yes, just create a new project, then from the menu you can import and browse, or choose import from camera. I'm sure there are some great tutorials on YouTube etc if you need some guidance, its pretty straight forward for a vid editing program.

And yeah, the new pricing on Final Cut Pro is pretty outstanding. I wouldn't poke at that price tag too much considering iMovie that comes free with the OS will do everything that 99% of hobbyists will want at no cost.

Yeah, not to mention the learning curve for FP. When software can do everything, it's usually a bit more complex.

You wont see better than the unofficial video posted by blade on youtube a while back. Given the 350 QX is sold with gopro mount its not surprising thats what people are buying it for
