+1 I wanna see where others put wires.

Weird this one was even harder to route wire nicely then my 250.

After messing around with it on and off for 2 nights I come up with the following. I think it is pretty clean and there is no external wires except for esc/battery and the rudder servo. There is the ikon fbl controller inside the frame as well as the hobbywing phase sensor.

Default Just finished 450L wiring

Finally finished 450L wiring. It's quite different machine from the DFC so takes some time to make neat wiring.
I put two satellite receiver inside the frame and mount 3mm fomax under the V-bar to get satellite receiver wiring clearance. I've been flying 450DFC long time. This machine very different scheme from the DFC.
Battery mount, servo mount, motor mount is revolutionally. Very good machine and eager to fly.
But, IMO have some complaints compared to DFC.

1. Battery size important because battery go inside the frame so large batt. impossible
and mounting scheme is not easy. I like just velcroing DFC scheme more.

2. Servo mounting is very good but I have to detach whole servo wire from the RX to replace servo gear.
for DFC I just unscrewed the servo and replaced the gear without unpluging the wire.

3. Most complaint is tail boom mount. It's latched the frame so very difficult to replace the front tail gear.

Overall 450L is very revolutionary machine from the DFC but doubt repair easiness after crash.

Thanks for the review about the serviceability of this frame vs the Pro frame.

Please let us know any differences in flight characteristics also!

Chan you have mounted the rx inside the frame, but I don't see where the antennas have come out of the frame.

Yes, first I tried antennas out. But, looks not good and also gap exist between the mounting plate.
So, I rotated 90 degrees. so antennas pararell to the frame. It's just fit.
Looks good. and hopes no side effect becase I mounted dual satellite inside the frame

The antennas inside the frames drastically reduces the radio link performance.

Thanks for the comment. I searched some information about antenna placement and found this.

Good info. for Rx installation.

I've been flying 450 for a long time without concerning satellite placement and no issues until now.
But I don't want jeoperdize my new bird. So, I'll replace satts. soon.

Here is mine. Nothing special, though. A small S-bus receiver is under the mast on the lower mount.

5packs flown today. I've been flying DFC for a long time so I can celarly feel the differences.
Simply say its stable and agile than DFC. Because it has larger span blades than DFC other than that its similar performance to DFC. Overall, good machine but not night and day difference between two.
someone likes 450 325mm quick feeling may feel this machine dumb stable sometimes. Just IMO.

here is mine:
I tried to get a good compromise between an easy serviceable heli, and a nice clean look.
most of the wires are hidden, Heli is stock except for a CC talon ESC, and an Ikon fbl (i have tried the 3GX, but it was crap)

running 1 sat receiver on the lower electronics tray.

had to shave off a little from the frame so the sat wire won't touch it and transmit vibrations to the fbk unit

eesc to motor wires were left exposed so i can easily disconnect them when setting up the heli.

all in all it is a pretty easy heli to wire up neatly, way easier than the 450 pro, lots of room to run wires, and the wide frames help as well.
i am flying mine gove'd at 3250RPM and it is insanely powerful. when you tell it to go it goes fast! and shoots up in to the air like a rocket.
this is one fun little heli

Default Trex 450 L wiring pictures

How do you guys program / tune the iKON / Brain mounted there? Bluetooth, or does a USB cable fit somehow?

I just use the bluetooth connection.
Very cheap and makes field tuning an ease

I use bluetooth, too. With my PC at home, too. It is so convenient that it has been quite a while since I last used the USB cable.

I am thinking about the Talon 35 vs the EDGE light 50
is the talon up to the challenge ?
how is it with 3D flying
I am thinking it's twice the voltage so the current should be low on a 6 cell setup

right now I am running the 3 cell set up with 450mx 3400kv

i fly it with the talon on 6S, with the stock 1800KV motor.
gove'd at 3250rpm on stock pinion, i throw everything i got at this heli and it just begs for more .
i do both hard smack and big air with it, but i have never gotten the motor nor the esc to come down hot. if it is a really hot day (and it gets really hot where i live) than the esc might come down barely warm.
so for a 6S setup i am sure that the Talon will do just fine.

on 3S tough i bet it will come down hot, because 35A on a 3S machine for 3D is pretty marginal
