Default Trex 600 motor choice

Does anyone have any suggestions for optional motor choices or pinion choices for trex 600 efl scale. I have the stock 600mx-510kv motor with stock 13t pinion but I think the stock setup is a bit fast for my a109 build I plan on useing 3300-3700 45c packs thanks

How many teeth on the main gear ? What ESC ?

I assume it is 12s ? If it is, you should not need anything like 45C lipos - 25C is plenty. Check on your CoG - many helis are tail heavy and could use more weight up front, and the weight may as well be useful. I use 2x 5000mAh 6s Turnigy 25C for my 600 Seahawk - 1350rpm, 2x 5 minute flights.

In my AS350 there is a 600EFL Pro with the complete stock motor and mechanics. The change I did was to get the KDE Direct adjustable motor mount and then dropped the pinion to an 11t unit. I set the CC ICE 80 for about 1500 to 1550rpm and have not looked back. I have hundreds of flights on it now and it does have a three blade head on it with Fun-Key scale 600mm blades. Colin is bang on about the C rating needed as none of my large scale heli's draw very much current at all. The largest spike I have ever had was a 58A in my 17lb. 500MD TD. The 80A ESC is more than enough for any 600 size scale helicopter. Take care.

I have to say I am with keyrigger on this one.
I am running a 600efl pro with three blade head and have set my gov to run at 1450,1500 and 1600 rpm.
Stock 112t main and 11t pinion. 12 cell with 80amp esc.

It's not that pricey of a conversion and the system works just great. I know there is a 10t pinion available but in that case, it will get the motor too close to the servos and for sure, the motor will rub on the two cases. Take care.

It is a very common thing to do. The vast majority of 12s setups (and nowadays most 600, 700 and bigger helis are 12s) are 2x 6s in series. Look in the Goblin forum for example and you are bound to see plenty of photos
