Default Motor kv for 700 size scale

Im looking at 700 size mechanics to fit in a scale fuselage and, got to thinking what range of kv for electric motor would be suitable.

Im kind of guessing that it is maybe like 'how long is a piece of string' type question and depends of final gearing?

All I can say is the fus will either be a Vario EC 145 using X Treme mechnics or Marvelcraft AS350 using Align 700 mechs. So, any indicators on what kv would be suitable? For scale flying is generally a high kv (upto 1000kv) best or is it better to use a motor of around 500kv?

Better to run a lower Kv Motor for slower headspeeds on scale, also gives more torque.
I run my 700 size scale AS350 with a 480KV motor in my Trex 700E mechanics, gives me a nice strong 1100 to 1400 rpm range on my 700mm 3 bladed head.
On my large turbine powered AS350, the headspeed is only 850 rpm !!!
Please bare in mind with most Trex like mechanics, the main shaft will be too short for a good scale look so you will need to get a longer one made, standard Trex 700 shaft is about 215mm long, (DFC shorter) my custom shaft is 255mm long, as I wanted my Starflex head to sit at the correct hight.
Still a fair bit of fettling to get these bolt on bodies to look/ work correctly but easier for someone new to scale than a Vario build, as there is MUCH to do, I have built about 8 Vario models now and it still amazes me how much work they are lol.
Good luck in your project, and photos of your progress would be good.
