So it is a full +100, then it is forever a no go in that mode.

I wonder what else is added programming wise to the 180qx when it goes to stability low angle.

I would have picked one up myself to play with but now they are just starting to show off that little 200qx..

Actually, we've not even discussed this...but in any Mode - Smart /Stability/ Agility, the D/R's switch still works...so with a 3-position D/R switch you get 9 possible modes, StaGility MIGHT add 3 more

Will hafta ask Octane or Foos to try it...lol they're not afraid to take a dive

Correct...our initial finding still stands...

To access StaGility Mode, you must first select Stability High Angle...you cannot use Smart Mode (Low Angle)

As it stands you still get your chosen options for rates on any given switch, so give them a go

This goes along with why I thought stability low angle was just rates. If that was the case it would have no issue entering stagility. Rates and expo do not effect the mixes that I made for stagility. So if you are not using your dual/rates in stagility you should if you like different rates, and they will work exactly as they should

Yeah, when I made Stagilty mixes for the 350 and tested it I checked what it did from all modes. I realized it doesn't access stagility from standard smart mode and instead it accesses stability horizontal or vertical and agility at angles. I knew it wouldn't access stagility from agility mode since that was the mode I was making the mix to jump to.

This is why on my downloads for the dx9 it says "Panic" as the first voice prompt if stagility is turned while in smart or agility mode, or if smart or agility are toggled on while stagility mixes are active. So someone will realize quicker that it will not work as they expect.
As seen in the first minute of this video:
DX9 - 350qx & Full Time Stagility Flight (5 min 19 sec)

Too bad all radios dont have warning tones, vibes or voices yet.

I though about making a mode in heli programming that could use this to an advantage. That way I could fly in stability with altitude lock but I haven't gotten around to it yet..but I don't even know if I can limit the throw anyhow at angles.

Even as it sits I have been meaning to try it in smart mode to stabilty/stagility transition and see if it makes me crash

Just DL'd the StaGility SPM from the dropsite...a bit different than Mine, but it's workable...

I'll add the "idle up" and a TH just in case I need it

Yeah I was going to put another up with idle and one with a sequenced idle... but I have been busy with all the 350 versions..and family.

I also made that one without ever testing it on a 180qx but it should function well beyond just workable! It should be similar to stock settings with stagility and different rates attached to a single switch

Like you, personally I prefer Thold on almost everything, no reason to slam the throttle if you dont have to. It was a bad habit I had when i started rc that took me a few helicopters to get over!

The only thing I dont like a thold on is my 350, If I had one I would put it into the dirt. That is why I have the rth on the normal THOLD spot on my 3 position version...or else accidental dirt naps

If you let me know what the absolute lowest % for a workable idle I will add it to the sequencer on the next load

It should be the same as the dx8 since your radio has 6 programmable mixes

Mix 1- ALE-Gear
Rate: -125%
+125%
Offset: 0
Sw: Mix1 (Throttle Hold switch)

Mix 2- ELE-Gear
Rate: -125%
+125%
Offset: 0
Sw: Mix 1

Mix 3 - Gear-Gear
Rate: 0%
+100%
Offset: 50% or less (suggested 45%)
Sw: Mix 1

Gear to gear will give you adjustability of stability to agility transition. As you lower the offset below 45% it will make the center of the stick less sensitive.

Alright...I have a challenge for all you DX9 Owners...

I use Switch G to activate StaGility...

G 0) Stagility is off
G1) Stagility is On

Here's My voice commands:

When I flip StaGility On G 1):

Stability High Angle Self Level

When I flip StaGility off G 0):

Self Level Off Stability High Angle

A good lesson in Custom Voice Setups...Lets see how many DX9 users can figure out the voice programming !

Hi guys, just thought I'd let you know that I've worked out stagility with throttle curves (heli programming) for the DX7s.

It was fairly easy to work out, I personally use the 3 position GYRO switch for flight mode selection.
Pos 0 (+100%) gives stability LOW
Pos 1 (0%) gives stability HIGH
Pos 2 (-100%) gives AGILITY

I tried adding the stagility mixes as described at the start of the thread but I noticed the gyro channel output would move correctly towards agility with the stick moving in one direction but incorrectly with the stick moved in the opposite direction.
To correct this I found the mix percentages BOTH had to be -125%, NOT one at +125%. This then gave the correct mixing into the gyro channel.

I did not bother with the third GYRO>GYRO mix, instead to control the transition point into stagility all I had to do was lower the value for gyro switch position 1. I found -30% gave a nice transition to stagility, still allowing for some stick movement around center before stagility kicks in.
Lowering the figure further will make the transition more aggressive.

I've set the stagility mixes to be active when flight mode 1 (stunt) is active, the gyro switch also has to be in position 1 (stability high) for it all to work correctly.

The throttle curves can be easily set as these are already tied to the flight mode switch.

This has all been fully tested on the model and the LED's show the correct behavior.

If you need any help for the DX7s don't be afraid to ask guys.

Happy flying

Glad you got it working for you how you want on heli mode
To bad some radios dont offer throttle curve access on acro mode

Indoorheli, I have a setup for a Futaba 9CHP with the Spektrum module if you want to post it. I got it working last week and flew a couple of batteries on it yesterday. It's really slick!. Makes it a lot easier to do flips because you can recover quickly by just letting go of the right stick. Very cool....

Default Stagility on the Futaba 9CHP

indoorheli, here is the setup that invokes stagility on a Futaba 9CHP with a Spektrum module:

BASIC MENU:

Select ACROBATIC as your model TYPE, not HELI (do this on your PARAMETER screen)
Default D/R (100%) and EXP (0%) for AILE, ELEV, RUDD
END POINT - 100/100 for all channels EXCEPT GEAR (channel 5)
- Endpoints for CH5: GEA - 45/35
SUB-TRIM - all 0s
REVERSE - all channels (1 thru 5) are REVERSED
TRIM - start with all 0s
THR-CUT - INH
IDLE-DOWN - INH
AUX-CH - CH5 > Sw-E ------- this makes your 3 position switch the GEAR channel and switches between the 3 modes. Down is stability mode low angle (solid blue light), middle is stability mode high angle (blinking blue light), up is the new stagility mode (blinking blue light except when moving right stick, then red light)
AUX-CH - CH6 > Sw-H ------- this makes your momentary switch control the camera
No other changes are needed in the BASIC menu except you can set your timer if you like

ADVANCED MENU:

PROG.MIX1
(AILE > GEAR)
RATE > -100% +100%
OFFSET > 0%
MIX > OFF
MAS > 1:AILE
SLV > 5:GEAR
LINK > OFF
TRIM > OFF
SW > E
POSI > DOWN

PROG.MIX2
(ELEV > GEAR)
RATE > +100% -100%
OFFSET > 0%
MIX > OFF
MAS > 2:ELEV
SLV > 5:GEAR
LINK > OFF
TRIM > OFF
SW > E
POSI > DOWN

Leave all other programmable switches INH

This will now operate the 180QX in the 3 modes. You can check the modes by powering up the radio, then the 180QX. With switch E in the down position, the light will be a solid blue, with switch E in the middle position, the light will be flashing blue, and with switch E in the up position, the light will still be flashing blue but if you move the right stick away from center at all, it will turn red. Release the right stick back to center, and it will turn flashing blue again.

I was sitting on the fence as to whether I should get a 180QX FC board for my mQX and upgrade it. This thread convinced me that I've GOT to try this. You guys are real enablers, you know that?

That's what forums are for!

I don't even want to count how many purchases I have made after reading a few threads

No the settings won't as it takes a two step process to toggle to each mode on the nano.

I currently have a setup that is functioning but not as well as I like. I also haven't had as much time lately to test it either..

But if I end up happy with the way it functions it will only be for a dx9 or better
