![]() Ok I've figured out an even better way, not only is it easier to install but it works better too. Just get a piece of semi flexible teflon tubing with an Id that just fits over the strap. Cut it so that it is pinned between the post and the screw (or the step and the screw if there is one) so that it cannot move. Not only is this easier to install but the throttle feels even smoother than with either the teflon tape or shrink tubing.

![]() I just re-did my DX6 and DX9 and was able to not only leave them super smooth but very similar in feel. I used “mouse feet” tape recommended here by a fellow HF. Amazing feel.

![]() Just want to add that with further experimentation I found that if you heat the teflon tube to it's gel state (where it turns clear) it will conform itself to the strap and this will remove any irregularities which makes it work even better. As with teflon shrink tubing this should be done in a ventilated area.
The trick here is that the tubing when flattened must just barely fit the strap. It appears that the PTFE formulation in the plain teflon tubing is harder than the teflon shrink tubing and so makes a superior bearing surface. With the mouse tape and the teflon shrink tubing you can still feel some irregularities in the throttle friction but the plain tubing reduces the irregulatities to nothing or almost nothing. |

![]() I store the radio with the "mouse tape modification" with the throttle stick all the way down. If I store the radio for over one day with the throttle stick anywhere between the all the way up or the all the way down position, this creates a detent any time the throttle stick moves past the stored position and this may last for a few hours before it becomes smooth again.

![]() Weird. I don't have this issue. I suspect due to keeping the collective spring very light/loose just like I keep the other springs. I'm using the tape mod.

![]() does anyone have a link for the correct teflon tubing to use? Preferably NOT shrink tubing, and preferably from amazon please.
