Default Red Bull owners **Deleted- Selling the Heli-

Hey all,
rebuilt my tail with the Xtreme metal E gears, the Xtreme kicked up TT, and the Blade metal A/B/C/D gears. Had some shims that i placed between the bearing and the carbon TT. That seemed to take some of the vibes away.

Unsure if it was the wind i flew in today (10-14 MPH), vibes to the board, or something else causing my tail to spin 90-360 degrees un-commanded. So i rebuilt and used some shims to take some slop out of the kick up TT, and flew a pack tonight after the wind died down. It seemed to fly OK. No un-commanded tail movements.

My thought is this is a mechanical problem for sure. First thing I would do is test for smooth rudder control through the entire range of motion. For this you'll have to unplug the motor which is easier said than done on the redbull. I'm thinking either the piece that links your two pushrods together is not be on it's pin or perhaps your tail servo is not in the correct position on your boom.

The free-play between the main and tail rotor i would not worry about. The undesired spins you're getting is not caused by this in my opinion.

Thanks me,
I'll check the servo tomorrow.
The pushrod link is indeed seated on the pin, I did a full tear down of the tail tonight before the check flight.

Wind allowing, I'll see if the tail snaps around tomorrow...

Default Red Bull owners (or anyone!)- Any slop in your tail? Have weirdness...

If I hold the tail rotors n move the head, and watch the E gears I can see the longer tt is way loose in its boom, it literally flops back n forth when I move the head.

The tt's seem to be looser in the Red Bull booms.

The tail servo has that rocker arm at the kick up, make sure it's seated properly in the plastic out boom cover. Make sure all the plastic is not bent or broken.

IMO, you could also get some slop, due to the carbon fiber TT, which has more flex than a metal TT. In case, your CF TT has been used for a while, I'd replace it with a new one. Otherwise, I'd put the metal TT back in.

For me it was the bearing mounts were both the E gears met. built it up with a tiny bit of JB weld. Now the gears mesh right. Still waiting for the metalE gears to show up from Hong Kong
