tom I thought I had the screws thru the holes at the tai lcase end. I was very mistaken. Thus when doin multiple pirouettes the g force pulled the torque tube toward the tail and disengaged it from the transmission at the front. No tail was the result. Its all fixed now with the exception of the right aileron servo needing gears. they shouls be here in a day or two. back in the air for this weekend coming up.

I've put a Kontronic Helijive in mine, replacing the CC Edge 120HV.

SOOOOOOOOOO much better ... Heli sounds better, and governor performance is nigh-on perfect.

Almost a different heli now. That's good for the 700x, but not sure what to do now with my CC-powered Goblins

Yep. Took a buddies octocopter over to the area with fpv. Signal drops to the point where the copter wont fly any further into the dead zone....mapped it and its a very large cylinder, a few football fields in diameter. Weird part of it is its at my local clubs flying field and some of the old members are aware of this area. Wish they would have let me know about it. Ahh its only stuff.

Unhappy

Flew yesterday......stripped front umbrella gear. Heard it making noise so i landed before disaster occured. Parts ordered now. I guess my question awhile back about play in the drivetrain has now been answered. This sucks. Blade needs to make better stronger umbrella gears.

Before you dis-assemble your boom block, check that the front torque tube gear does not move in/out, up/down, or left/right. Also check that the vertical shaft in the boom block does not move up/down at all. If it does, post what is moving and we can tell you how to get rid of the play. If you have any at all, it will strip - has nothing to do with the gears and everything to do with making sure they can't move around in flight. I missed this on a rebuild - it's subtle and easy to miss. The play you refer to may be that the main and tail rotor can move a little independently of each other is not a problem.

aclysma i checked per your request. no extra lash was present in the boom block where the bevel gears meet in any axis x,y,or z.both bevel gears were destroyed. fyi i dont fly aggressive on the tail at all. still just a beginner intermediate pilot. basic loops rolls stall turns simple easy pirouettes. i am thinking a very small shim under the umbrella gear will tighten the mesh just enough.

Flew mine at OHB last weekend.....I got lots of compliments on how well this bird flies. I got the from a lot of pilots that fly better than me and with a lot of more expensive birds. Felt good to hear that this bird is not the equivalent to HH's reputation from smaller birds. Too Bad its discontinued. I got that directly from the boys in the Horizon tent .

designed a mod that allows to run align TT gears in front and back (all except the one on the tailshaft)

really great "Upgrade"

heres the pdf to have someone machine you one.

One of mine is already upgraded and flying perfect the other two will follow as soon as my CNC guy gets his machine going

Edit: mainly due to availability ...if meshed correctly stock gears are perfectly fine. I already crash tested them and all gears survived
