Wouldn't green Loctite maybe be better than red?? Still has to set up overnight but I know it sure works on the 250 motor pinions.

Yes, Loctite Green 290 is better.

Great. Off to the hobby shop this week to see if they have the shock shafts.

They didn't have the HPI shafts but had some Traxxas ones that are very long and 3 mm diameter.

Well sort of 3 mm. The package is marked as being 3 mm but they actually measure 3.13 mm which id likely a slip fit for 1/8th inch.

3 mm shafts (the ones on the stock shafts) are actually 2.94 mm so they will slide into a 3 mm bearing.

So now to order up the HPI ones in the picture and then I can get going. And a trip up island a little bit to the Align place and get the hardware I need to make this up.

What a great thread this is. I just finished up the mechanical portion of my 5 blade 450 and this info will shed light on many questions.

I hope your reffering to me Mr.nightflyr I have undoubtedly missed you. I have noticed every new project I've taken on your photos/knowledge has helped. This new 5 blade 450 is a fun build and with you guys here its that much more awesome.

Seems like 500 tail blades are what I need to install. I have very low tall authority with the slide maxed. Using vbar 4.3

I will install now and check. The 5 blade setup surely increased the counter torq I just didn't know how much.

Partly because you're using full size rotor blades, instead of thinner cord scale rotor blades.
But, Nightflyr did get it work!

But it does looks good!

Right. I'm waiting for the thin blades and used these to setup pitch.

" I hope your reffering to me Mr.nightflyr " ....
Yepper, I was....

+1..... it do look sexy

Honestly, I thought everyone else who set up a 5 bladed head was doing something wrong in regards to the tail not holding.

I've done 3,4 and 5 bladed heads and they have all flown with out issue on the tail....
Think I'm just dammm lucky

But this 600 is flying standard main blades and the tail looks fine...
