Default Landing gear that doesn't break

Credit goes to someone that is not on Helifreak, but I thought I'd post the picture anyway, in case there's enough interest to persuade them to do something to make this available. 3D printed, 15% fill. This one is lower and narrower than the original, but works just fine. Bolts don't bend, either. Size adjustments possible.

Know I'm late to the party, but 'ditto.' Just picked up a Stingray, too good a deal to pass up and I've always wanted one since I saw them at IRCHA a couple years ago ... NOW I'm doing my research

My impression is that the intent was to sell this thing for much less than $20 that other gear costs, but I'll see what I can do to convince the author to publish the model.

The response is (sorry, have to be a mediator) - $5 a pair, $3 a piece for starters, and then let's see how well it works.

If anyone is interested - let me know either here or in PM, it would not hurt to know how many pieces need to be manufactured.

PS: Hope I'm not breaking forum rules with this? This is not a commercial enterprise, but R&D work.

Update: The very gear on the picture in the original post is still intact. Below is the last encounter it survived (the rest of the quad is also in good working order, nothing's bent, nothing broken, more flights after that).

Been testing how well the rotor pitch is balanced, after not flying it for a long time, forgot how little lift it has compared to my other birds.

Looks like the landing gear is very strong, can with stand some impact even on concrete.

Still winter here. Looking forward to spring so I can fly my Stingray again.

What I was even more happy about is that it's not stronger than the rest of the quad, I won't want the quad to break and protect the gear.

I put 450 sized Gorilla Gear on mine. I suspect those would survive the worst of crashes...assuming I ever get my Stingray repaired.

I wouldn't mind social media so much if it didn't involve people.

I would agree with you. I've had a hard landing with my Mini Protos (video here), even though the gear was slightly damaged in a previous crash (the motor chewed a bit of it off), it survived, and is still there, 100% functional.

Truth be told, I don't like how Stingray is built, nor how it flies, but it's fun for a change, and will probably be a decent fit for an FPV.

I've had good luck so far with some regular stock Align 450 struts. With at least a few hard landings and they're still in once piece and no broken screws. I probably will grab some Gorilla gear if I ever do break these. Pretty much anything other than those stock jobs is an improvement. But I do like those you made Madeye, they look tough.

Right, my bad. Let me rephrase that....if I ever manage to break the ones I have I'll come back and hit you up for a set of those bad boys if they're still available. Right now I don't fly the Stingray enough to justify stocking up on crash parts.
