Default Automatic looping in fast forward flight

My Goblin 770 Comp. is now adjusted well.
But when I do some fast forward flight with my Goblin 500 it always does a looping after a few seconds with max pitch.

More pitch up compensation? I tried already...

Regards

Oliver

If that does not work, try some elevator precomp.

I have found (and it was mentioned here before I think) when you turn up the pitch up comp the heli becomes more robotic as well, which I don't like. For me it was very noticeable in side tictocs: they become a bit laggy and slower. So I left pitch up comp at 60.
Regarding elevator precomp: I could not really notice a difference in high pitch pumps when I varied the value from 0-20 in flight. Too high values will also cause side tictocs to suffer since more elevator is being input. So I turned elevator precomp to zero. High speed performance has improved also.
With these values my E700 goes really well.
Anyway I can really recommend to use the Datapod in-flight control feature. This way you quickly feel the difference when you change a value and also notice it's effects in other maneuvers.

Check your CG and maybe do a Trim Flight and post the results.

Hi

I always use the in flight control! That's what I love.
But in this case I just tried the pitch up compensation. But I think the wrong way. Maybe I lowered the value instead of increasing it.
When it stops raining in Switzerland, I will try to tune it like you have told.

Cheers

Oliver

hello oliver

with my GAUI X5 and Spartan VX1 i have also problems with nick in fff.
i have tryed a lot (cg, vx1 tuning, blades, dampers), but found no satisfying solution.
after changing to VStabi, all the nick problems are gone. a friend of mine has the same troubles and made the same experiences.

here's my story.

i'm waiting and hoping there's coming a new firmware, which solves these issues, because i like the feeling of Spartan VX1...

These issues are not widespread, therefore we must look to your heli and setup as being the issue causing the unwanted pitching up.

Your last trim flight results still showed a tail-heavy condition. I would remedy that first. If you have good dampers and decent FBL blades, then I would reload the presets from Heli and Style Wizards and start fresh.

If you're looking for recommendations, this is what I would try:

1. Reduce Rotor :: Style to 60, this will give you more room to adjust Gain.

2. Adjust Rotor :: Gain until you get the heli to where it is locked in maneuvers, but not so high that you get oscillations in the head.

3. Check the stops on cyclic, increase D. Elevator to reduce or eliminate any elevator bounce.

4. If there is still some bounce, go into Advanced PID and reduce I gain by 1% and increase P gain by 2%. You should notice an improvement.

5. Go into fast forward flight and do some moderate but quick pitch pumps. Increase Pitch up compensation to reduce or eliminate any pitching up.

6. In fast forward flight level flight, if the heli wants to climb, increase Elev. Precomp to eliminate the climbing.

Of course tune the Agility and Expo to your preferences.

Hope this helps.

I can go full collective high speed forward flight on my helis with zero pitching up issues. I watched Bert in person at IRCHA go ALL OUT on a few speed runs and high speed loops, etc., and there was no pitching up. Though I did see some bad pitching up on other speed helis running other FBL systems.

My best friend flying Vortex on his Goblin 570, does full speed runs, loops, and high speed dives leveling out without any pitching up.

If you correct your CG and try these adjustments and they still don't work, I would say that there could be something mechanically going on. Either way, go with the FBL system that gives YOU the best experience, even if it's not Spartan.

I would love to be able to tune guy's stuff in person......sorry I can't help with that.

Wow!!
First of all I will try the compensation values. Otherwise I go with your setup list.

Thank you Bob.

Just did some flight in the neighborhood to tune the rotorgain and the d.elevator.
OMG my Goblin is just ROCK solid and crispy after increasind d.elevator. Wow.
But the looping thing is still pending, because for some speed runs I have to go to my clubs field...

You couldn't see my smiling face during the last flight! Nice

So by reloading the heli and style wizard all the head and tail settings reset to default?
