Thx Greg! Sill have quite few details to add to the landing gear before paint will touch them

If you ask me by buying painted fuselage you will miss all the fun of adding details and changing things to be right etc,.. that is where all the fun begins, detailing and trying to be as accurate as possible to the real thing,.. But choice is yours and yours allone!

Thanks Peter ! Looks like they're out of stock for now . Do you know if they ship to the US ? I can't find anything on shipping other than to Europe.

I do believe scaleflying.de ship to US, email them and ask or try to contact RC Aerodyne if they deliver gel coated JR 700 size.

sometimes the fuse in white is not posted but RC Aerodyne can provide it. Just give them a call or email them. I have bought fuses in plain gelcoat so that I can modify and paint them in my choice.

Xsiluro, your attention to detail and clean work continues to impress me. I love it!

Still working on landing gear details,..

Real skids, have on lower part mounted a protection, that can be replaced if worn out. How smart since only protection can be unscrewed and replaced with new one.

Here is what I have done, aluminium tube as material and epoxy as a bond.

Now I am quite near finishing detailing the landing gear, few rivets to attach and primer to go,...

Looking fabulous Peter ! Your scale detailing is absolutely impeccable !!!!!

Near the beginning of your thread you originally used the stock head from the Chaos / Flasher kit if I remember correctly . What are your thoughts on this head assembly ? I know you have put together a much more accurate and very nice scale head but I am wondering if I should consider an upgraded head since I don't plan to use a scale head for now .

Thanks for this superb build log !!!
Greg

Greg hi,

I am still using Flasher stock head so far. Generally it is a OK head, I have changed the swashplate for quick UK version, since stock was, well not so smooth,... Thaw my wish is someday to have a replica of a real JR head,...

Hi Peter:

You might find that those pads will wear just as the originals unless you are mostly taking off from grass. When I made the full length skid protector/bearpaws for my CH-139, I made them out of sheet steel as I knew I was going to do scale run-on landings on asphalt runways. When I build the new CH-139, I will use the same technique to make the skids. Those are looking just great.

Thanks and yes Don, you are right regarding pads and the wear on them. I will be using mostly grass landing site, but never the less landing skids should have usage marks to be more pristine, this will just add more realism to the helicopter .

Landing gear is finished, I am preparing them for re-priming and if the weather will be ok in next week for colouring.

I am attaching blue print with measures used to make the JR landing gear please find higher resolution as attachment,..

This concludes the detailing and manufacturing of landing gear, what is left to be done are fuselage mounts. They will be milled out with CNC sometime in the future

Landing gear mounts under development,.. First things first - blueprint.

Edit: if someone would like to CNC mill on their own landing gear holders, I am attaching blueprint idea for front holders for landing gear made by JestRR,..

To be continued,...
