I added some entries just to get it started. <edit> I also loosened up the log in restrictions so anyone can edit it now. </edit> If everyone tries to use the same format, it should be pretty sortable. Thats not a bad idea, OP you could ask a mod if they could add the link to the first post and then it will always be able to be edited, and others can help too

![]() Works for me, what do you think to this guys:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing It's accessible to anybody with the link, and editable by anyone. If you think it looks good I'll see about getting the top post edited with the link.

![]() Got to be said, the more I look at this the more I wish Lynx would release a version of their LX9001 for the 250. A high voltage servo that's only 5.25g, and the specs look perfect!! I'd love three of those for the cyclic, and a slightly higher geared one for the tail. That'd save me 27g, which is an insane amount of weight to drop.
Same for their ultra lightweight canopies too. They do this one for the mCPX BL at 3.5g!! ![]()

![]() OK, this time for sure. I think the spreadsheet is editable by anyone now, so go ahead and add your weights!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...Ppw/edit#gid=0 I added all the weights too. (Procrastinating doing actual work I need to do...) Last edited by Harbormaster; 09-22-2014 at 09:56 AM.. |

The idea, of course, is that it's a freely editable spreadsheet that everyone can share and add to.... |

![]() Thanks Harbourmaster,
I've pulled everything into this spreadsheet, with the components grouped by category: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing By default each category is sorted by weight, with the lightest items at the top, but you can re-order or filter the spreadsheet at will by clicking on a column title. I'm not entirely happy with how to present the data for the skids and the baseplate. Since hobbyking have a one piece item you can't easily compare the others unless you take the combined weight of the skids and the baseplate. Originally I had a combined "skids & baseplate" category, but I think that was too messy, so I've put them under skids and given them a 0g entry under the baseplate category.

![]() Oh nice, this is working already :-)
I can see somebody's been busy adding details, we have some tidying up on the descriptions and a whole bunch of batteries have appeared. I think we have a typo though, should this be 750mAh? Battery 70.76 Turnigy Nano-tech 350 25-40C Also, for the batteries we need to include the connector type as that can make quite a lot of difference. Some of the details are eye opening, they make you realise where you need to balance performance and weight. My chinese weights and plastic tail blades are double the weight of the stock align carbon blades. They're letting me save significant weight with the servo so it's well worth it, but I'm already wondering if I could make them work with the carbon blades now :-)

![]() Oh damn, now I need to de-case my Spartan.
Angelos just posted the weight without the case - 5.07g. That's a 5g weight saving!! http://forum.spartan-rc.com/viewtopi...162&p=692#p692

![]() I fixed the battery entries (JST connectors and 850 mAh).
Nice chart. I wish I had had it *before* I started my diet plan rather than after. Yeah, stripping off the case does save some weight. I'm still most impressed by how much weight I lost by replacing my 20+ gram canopy! I went back and changed the link in two of my earlier posts. Myx and Soccerjay, if you could go and edit out the old link in your replies, that might save some confusion... |

![]() Lol, me too, thats why i started this. I've learnt so much about dropping weight over the past few months, and keep discovering new bits.
Feel free to add links, they'd probably fit best over the product part codes.

![]() Thanks, I've updated that. Buly the way you should be able to edit the spreadsheet yourself if you have any new weights :-)
