Question Ebar PPC monitor isnt showing zeros

I have Spektrum DSMX which I bound to be DSM2 with 22ms Res.

my DX8 Tx is set with 90 degree swash type

servos freq and BW are set per kds servo specs.

when I power the Ebar with the PPC connected.
the numbers on the Monitor page arent showing sensible ranges when I move the sticks.
i.e. at half stick I expect the numbers to be near zero.

any idea whats going on?

On the DX9

Swash is normal

You need to use sub trim to get to zero and per Kenny at KDS with specktrum, first get the PPC monitor for a channel to -1 and look at you sub trim number on the TX, then +1 on the monitor and take the two numbers and divide in half to get stick center on the TX and zero on the monitor. Until I did that I was getting slight aileron and elevator drift.

Then use travel adjustments to get the full throws to -100/+100 on the PPC monitor.

I haven't been able to figure out the collective pitch range yet, but the trick is to first set everything to 90 using the neutral menu item and then go back and forth between collective pitch and neutral to get your max pitch set, Kind of like resetting the gyros to 90, then full throw on the transmitter and then select the collective pitch on PPC and see what your pitch gauge reads.

I initially set around 80 something but it had no pop at all, so I'm back around 100 and just playing to see how poppy the heli is without bogging on 6s.

the thing is the numbers on the PPC monitor page are so large i.e 112 and when I use the sub trim menu on the Tx I cant get the PPC to go near zero.

Plus, I move the Elevator stick on the transmitter the number of the Elevator on the PPC isnt the one that changing. as if the Ebar can see corresponding movement at all

Are your running spektrum, if so I'll walk through my wiring

From the receiver using the three wire plug, I have
black = aileron
red = elevator
white = rudder
Pitch is using the extra cable straight through to the ebar

Then, on the ebar I have
Elevator = 1
Pitch = 2 (from rear on the left side)
Aileron = 3
Rudder = 4

If all of this correct and your swash is 1 servo/normal and your still having problems, call the US Warehouse and ask for Kenny. I could be a bad unit and if he can't figure it out, I'm sure they will send a new unit.

I just checked out a DX8 manual - you don't want 3-servo 90 CCPM, you want the first selection Normal.

nflanagin

Spot on.

here is the summary on my DX8 + AR8000 DSMX Rx + DSMX Remote Satellite.

the above works if you set the frame rate to either DSM2 or DSMX

the DSMX Remote Satellite on its own wont work.
I waiting for a DSM2 Remote Satellite in the post and will report the result when used on its own.

Thanks Again for the help

Under system settings you can change it from 11ms to 22ms and dsm2 - opp's never mind, that's dx9. I just checked the manual and you can't change it. In fact the ar8000 is dmsx and there are some threads saying you can't use a dsm2 sat with an ar8000. So, hopefully you have an old dsm2 sat.
