Heres a few more videos, including flight I did only abour an hour before making this post. I flew in my dark alley, couldnt wait till the next morning. The 180 flies sooo well I cant keep my hands off of it. The updated AS3X software in that little fbl unit is very smooth and the tiny Talon 15 governs the HS as if it was a 700 size heli!

Enjoy

What do you mean when you say "updated AS3X software"?

Thanks

The big new feature in the update is the addition of piro comp. One of the videos from HH mentioned that the code was completely rewritten, so there are likely many small differences from previous as3x controllers.

Thanks bmc76, for a nice informative video presentation. I'll be following your lead when I get my 180 tomorrow and will be checking everything over thoroughly.

Exactly what I meant The 130x has AS3X also, it was just super super basic. My 130x piros perfectly flat because of a very level swashplate, but you can feel the lack of piro compensation during piro flips. I can keep the 180 happily in a piro flip for days without a twitch from the FBL unit.

I like this unit so much that I already ordered 2 of them to replace a Beast and a Vbar in my smaller helis

Hey Patric. Great flying as always. The 180 CFX has the AR6335 FLB unit, Correct? Won't you need to flash the latest FW to the unit? AFAIK, The AR6335 that's currently available is flashed for micro plane use only. Is the new FW available to flash withy the right tools?

Thanks

Here's a light flight, and showing some piros in both directions. What a perfect morning today, shorts and t shirt, about 65 degrees.

Nice flying bmc76, Just wondering, how come you've put the stock blades back on? I thought you preferred the Lynx 150mm blades.

EDIT:- Sorry, forgot you had cyclic gain issues with those blades

Here's with Lynx 150mm non bullet blades, about the same as the bullets, cyclic shake.

Your last statement had my full attention, "no way... cool" was my raw thought.

Full skepticism mode, I really can't imagine the 180 outta the box being a better micro then a gy280 130.
The 180 sure doesn't look as nimble and fast, dang, I need fedex man soon.

Thanks bmc, you know now, if I don't agree, my disappointment will spill onto your shoes!

woohoo, glad I pre-order now!

Read Post 73 in this thread by Patric Hruswiki. If he also thinks this new AR6335 FLB unit is that good, it's gotta be worth taking note!!

Last flight of the weekend, had fun getting to know my 180 these last 2 days.

I was screwing around with the gyro menu in my dx8, look how much more crisp the cyclic stops are after I take off again. I took off the first time with the 3rd menu which should be d gain at 120 because that's what I saw in the tech vid that JH had his set to. Well that actually made it softer so I landed and went the other direction. I'm going to stop messing around with it until they release the instructions.

Video uploads from me will be halted until mid-week.

I put on a set of MicroHeli 150mm stretch blades on the 180, just to see what would happen. Turns out the blades are waaaaay too light and the gyro does not like that. It went into a porpoising oscillation on a high speed pass and hit the ground….then tumbled about 5 million times.
Crash damage isn't too bad- stripped servo gear, broken landing gear, and bent tail shaft. All gears are in tact, but the TT disengaged. I might be able to glue it together?

Until then.

Direct them to that video, with the explanation that the helicopter was not flyable after the "crash".

3s doesn't mix well will the ground, what makes for a good helicopter, detracts from durability.

Because "No" wont be understood.

Bingo ;-)
