Default Wishlist item (from the geeky book): object oriented configuration

Going through the learning process on several models at the same time. Really wish Jeti offered a sort of a descriptive language that would allow to reuse pieces of configuration from different models so there'll be no need to copypaste pieces, or fiddle with switches (keywords for those in the know: inheritance, polymorphism).

...and Eclipse plugin to edit it

Of course, I understand that this is a serious undertaking and we may never see it, but well, one can dream, right?

...but the life is long and hardware is getting faster, so maybe the day *will* come

I've been fiddling with the idea to make a model-configurator software. Since everything is in a single file regarding model-settings it's sort of easy. Problem is that finding out all the possible values to all settings is just a tall order

Being a geek myself I would like this but I think what wound be better is more of a signal path processing type of approach for the on-board setup. Something similar to how digital guitar effect boards work.

Input --> Channel --> Mix --> DR ---> Expo --> Output

I think that would simplify things a lot and make more sense.

It seems like the challenge to this formalism would be how to handle recursive exceptions in the setup when applying the "Mix" step.

Oh, thats easy... mix output can simply be directed to an input :-)

the attached picture gives the general idea but this is a more complicated view of how it could work (but not complete). I am thinking the splits can be inserted anywhere.
