The skids brought the tail fin about 2" off the ground from the bottom of the fin. Thanks!

Was finally able to fly my 360 today, and put 8 packs thru it.
This is without a doubt the smoothest of all my heli's.
I did take the time to set it up with the Soko kit, and i think the extra effort it takes it is well worth it.
Blade tracking is perfect as is level flight on lift off. I can actually put this thing in a spot and take my fingers off the sticks for a few seconds.
No tail wag or any other bad tendencies.
Thx Blade for building a confidence inspiring machine.

Great to hear, congradulations! Is yours the 3S version? Setup is crucial, I always take the time to setup as perfect as possible as well, it does pay off and worth the time as you said. I really like mine, although the tail I am a bit dissapointed with I dont like the tail pitch assembly with those pressed in pins for the control arm links, wish they were screws like my Trex 470. The Blade one has alot of play but mine flies good. I really like the servo mounts for the cyclics and its very light, easy belt adjustment and when I use the 2600mah 3s I have got almost 10 minutes with it. Hopefully they will update the tail like the Fusion 480. Anyway, Blade is getting better!

I finally got around to swapping out the AR7200BX to a Spirit FBL today. I'm not flying because of an injury so I guess it gives me time to do all the stuff I keep procrastinating. Now at least I have rescue on the 360CFX
(Sat was not yet mounted in pic) I have three AR7200's I should sell.

Four flights on the 360CFX today. Really loving it since the FBL change. I need to get a couple more 6S lipos for it as I only have two. I can fly it on 3S but not if I want to really get it moving.

Keep tweaking that tail gain Darren. You'll find the sweet spot.

other than rescue did the spirit really make that much of an improvement over the 7200BX and if so what were differences. How about the spirit over the Ikon2?

The 7200 was experiencing the RROD from vibes even with two layers of tape. The Spirit has been fine from first liftoff. I've never had an Ikon or Brain 2 on it to compare.

Got the tail wag mostly solved Sunday with 4 more packs. Lowered the gain to 70% in Normal (didn't bother with the other two modes as I never use them so far). It still has a wag but its like more of an intermittent twitch now ... I'm guessing that's about as good as it gets for a $370 BNF. I've seen discussion before that adding a better tail servo solves tail wag sometimes... Not sure i'll bother as I don't 3D anyway It flies circuits OK.

I flew 2 packs and didn't crash Still trying to resist the temptation to go inverted which I have been practicing (inverted hover) in the sim.

Maybe try Stability Acro mode on the Spirit FBL your first time and do it up high with some room for recovery.

I have packs charged for the 360CFX and Fusion 270. We just had some nasty storms roll through. It looks like there will be windows of opportunity today between stuff.

Just wait until you try a 500, 700, or 800 now and that shaky fear factor will return for the first few flights. Compared to a tiny 100 or 200 though they seem like slow motion.

Yes - 360cfx seems like slomo compared to 230s v2. The difference is how quickly they zoom off in a direction when you tilt that way.

In the sim I'm able to invert and hover but sometimes i have difficulty initially and crash. Thats why i'm resisting the temptation on the real heli I will get there!

Noticed you have a Nano S2 and 230S aswell (signature)... I would suggest first trying to get your nano into an inverted hover before trying them bigger birds.

Itís ironic but bigger helis behave much better. I tried my first inverted hover in the 230S and failed miserably. Hit Rescue and saved the heli.

Next was the Goblin 380. So smooth and stable. My problem was I feared giving it more negative collective. I ended up smoothly landing it on the head oops.

I donít think I ever inverted the 360 wish I had though.

So itís ironic that yes the S2 is pennies to crash sometimes zero damage but itís harder to do. Good thing if you fly the S2 well anything else will be piece of cake.

I haven't flown the nano s2 since I got the 230 s v2 ... You can't really fly it at the flying field unless its dead calm and my property has to many trees to do anything much more than hover.

What toadiscoil said on it being harder to fly the nano s2 ... it hovers great but it darts like a hummingbird otherwise!

I will invert the 230s v2 first as it has rescue. I'm not so brave with the 360cfx as no rescue

Oh and put 4 packs through my 360cfx last night ... No inverted tho Its hard to believe, but its starting to feel small to me. It can get nearly out of visual range in a hurry. Never would have guessed that even a month ago.

That's exactly why I would advice to start with a nano S2. If you can pull it off with this little bird, the rest (read bigger helis) is piece of cake.

I started flying inverted with my nano cps and failed the first couple of times. After the 5th try I could already hold it into an inverted nose in hover for a few seconds. From there I started building up and now have zero issues getting any heli into inverted positions

My dad (65) had a minor crash with his 360CFX last Saturday. Apparently he lost oriention due to some bushes and trees

Result:
- one cracked rotor blade
- bend blade grips
- one stripped servo (h3050)
- ego
