think I can make one using 5/16 aluminum tubing? I have the end pieces

You can likely make it out of about anything (aluminum tube or carbon tube) that you can attach the bearings and ends to. Carbon tubing from a kite supply would be a good choice.

thanks, I wonder if the original was a metric size. the bearings are very slighty loose on 5/16

I use to use bow and arrows. Just the arrows. They worked perfect.

i cut down the align 88 tube, seams to fit. the loads of flying will tell
