Well, I finally received my new rotor head and scale blades which had been on back order.
But guess what?? I forgot to order a main shaft. Actually I never even checked to see if it was bent but hoping it isnt as being 12mm and my accidental landing being fairly soft it may not be bent.

In the meantime I will continue with my scale details such as cutting open the vents, hinges where they're supposed to be and such. My problem is once I start I never know how to stop LOL

Chris keep us posted on your progress, and PICS!!!!

we love pics!!

Hey guys,
Hope all is well with everyone.

I finally received my new decals for the 429 which will make it a Police Air Rescue 429. I didn't go to Dalton this year and when I saw the pics it looked like there were TWO Air Med 429s.

I'm sure glad even tho mine has the same color scheme it will have different markings and equipment hanging on like searchlight, etc, that it will stand out from its twins (triplets.)

Hey Chris, I do a lot of crazy stuff like buying a Roban 407 while I'm building a MC 407 into a Puerto Rico Police 407 but....

Puerto Rico Police just got a 429. So... I may get a 1/6 scale 429 to do also. We will see what my loving wife has to say I guess LOL

When I looked at the pictures of Dalton I thought that was your 429, then I read your post that you didn't make it there either! Glad to hear you got the decals to change it over. Get some pictures up when you have a chance!

here is a pic of some of the decals and probably the most important. I had my buddy Rich who is a 407 pilot and knows the NCPD helos check it out for placement. Just a small move from where the patch is and I'm on my way.

And since I mentioned trying to obtain a 1/6 scale 429 to build like the new PRPD 429, here are a few pics of the full scale...

Wow! Really like the looks of the PRPD bird. That would really look good.

Thanks Chris!
My 407 will have the same paint scheme also. But I plan on selling it along with my smaller helis as I want to get into the bigger scalers.

Thanks Chrisl. All I have at present is a box. I have started to collect the electronics. I intend to use Align DS 615S servos, a Talon 120 ESC, a HC3SX FBL controller. The recommended Align motor is in short supply at present in Oz so I am looking for an alternative recommendation. My favoured manufacturer is Scorpion.

The model I have is the Air Zermatt model. I bought it "second hand" unbuilt in the box. I was contemplating changing the scheme to suit an Australian one but at present the only Australian one I can find is a Navy one which is a bit dull. I do not have any experience building scale but thought this particular model was a good starting point, especially as I saved $aus1000 buying it.

I am present working on the cockpit of a 1:6 Sebart Pilatus PC 21 plane which will be my first attempt at scale.

Welcome watdazit
We can all help each other out with our 429 builds

Just got back from my last work trip for the year so hoping to get back on my build. Going to be adding quite a bit of scale detail even tho it's a painted fuse.

Take care!

Well here we are half way through November and the weather has been so nice that I have still been flying this 429, wanting to add scale details to the interior so I have been collecting pictures to give me ideas. This week still looks good weather wise but I'm anxious to get started, so this one is grounded and going to be treated to some detail. I will post pictures as I go along. Please feel free to add your input as it is always welcomed!
Chris

Urwen offers quick service and quality is very high http://www.fine-scalemodela.com/15-bell-429.html - he may scale down his 1:5 parts. Likewise Benoit has very high quality parts, albeit pricey and can take a while to deliver http://www.cine-scale.com/PBSCCatalog.asp?CatID=2363110

I have scratch built a few parts shown in my build thread in the Large Scale Model >790 forum. I happen to,think the RAN grey is very sexy, but you're right Richard, not many, any?, other Aussie 429s to choose from!

Flight line Graphics did up a set of paint masks for the Navy 429 and is very reasonably priced and fast http://www.flightlinegraphics.com
