Skookum has announced a new GPS unit and a laser altimeter. Have not seen the hardware, but these should be great additions to a scale airframe.

The Core 700 looks interesting too, very unusual tail design:

Yet another new heli design (one that was talked about on the show a long time ago)

The Takumi Heli seems to be making some good progress.

I think I spot a very odd 90deg motor positioning?

Links here:

Photos that I can find are attached including some of the carbon fiber molds.

Core 700, MSH 700 v2, Velos 880, Gaui R5, SAB Goblin Speed Competition, and possibly the Takumi 700 CF.....very busy year for the hobby!

How about a heli frame from a 3-d printer?

Dan, this is a tiny heli, so no fair looking at it.

I am soooo tempted, but I also have so many projects in process. Maybe in the fall.

I would definately try to use a stock head and drive system.

And well timed too, that's a gateway from quad copters to helis if ever I saw one.

Love the three bladed tail too :-)

How about the announcement that HD Helicopters will be releasing a 750 model:

o, what are the news on the big heli from HD Helicopters?
We are currently undergoing testing and flying with our partner Superstitionhobbies in Mesa, Arizona to prepare the 3 prototypes ready for 2015 IRCHA.
The past few months and weeks we have been doing a lot of flying and also market research to discuss the position of our new model compared to our competitors. We came to the conclusion to take advantage of the slightly bigger frame, longer tail boom and durable double main belt drive (and belt driven tail) to make this heli to a real 750 heli and take a different position in the market. Therefore we are extremely happy to introduce the brand new HD750 in just 3 weeks to the public.
We did cut a true 700 next to the 750 and decided to not want to be the Xth manufacturer introducing a product in this class. Our goal was and will always be to be different. To separate from others. To not be mainstream. And this all new HD750 will be a clear statement in design and German manufacturing within our second company, CNC-Tech Germany GmbH.
You all were asking for pictures and we truly can understand you would like to see on what we are working on. From todays progress Id like to say we plan to come up with the first pictures by mid of next week. Whilst our canopy is currently in progress (Made in Germany as well) we will show you the details underneath the canopy first.
Stay tuned. The next weeks will be extremely excited with a heli representing a class of its own.
Nuertingen, July 13th 2015
Jens Juengling, CEO HD Helicopters GmbH
