Check out your local HobbyTown to see if there are several in stock already...I think they are pricey sadly

Default 230 SR

Had it, so tried it out. Kind of retro, my SR never flew this good.

Seems like every time I crash my heli I tend to upgrade it. Mods are fiberglass canopy, homemade carbon fiber tail boom, carbon fiber tail skid, and Zeal neon orange carbon fiber blades which are possibly the best investment into the heli. They fly super smooth in forward flight. Could notice a little less of a bite.

If you're familiar with the HobbyTown franchise and the IFT helis that are sold/phasing out of the market l, then you'll recognize this as the Evolve 300CX fuse. It should fit the 230 alright with some modifications. The tail motor will require cutting a chunk out of the tail but I'll make it as clean as possible. Will probably make it easily removed because I will not be flying 3D with it.

Please post pictures during construction. Love this stuff. Maybe cut the tail clean off and mount the tail blade upside down to replicate the scale model fin.

Fits pretty well and room for battery too! Pretty tail heavy but battery has room to go forward. Got the tail prop at home painted black to match mains. Mains are the CF blade for Ares Optim 300. Can't wait to fly it!!!

Looks terrific. Wow. Should you take off the orange tail fin, as you have managed to keep the original for stability, and this will keep the weight off the tail.

Was there much to do in the way of alterations to mount it to the 230 chassis? Also what is the battery access like? Now I want one, ho, ho - where can I get one from?

The stock skeletonized tail fin does nothing for stability. It helps keep the tail rotor from hitting the ground and the scale fuse's tail fin doesn't do that because it doesn't extend down far enough. Now, he could put a "stinger" (bent piece of wire or something) on the bottom of the scale fuse's tail fin like a lot of full scale helicopters have.

You can buy one from hobbytown.com or at your local HobbyTown if possible. Not much alteration. I cut up the tail a bit to fit the very end around the tail motor mount.

Battery access sucks for now as I am taping on the nose (which I cut off for battery access) every flight. That will be changed with paperclips on one side and tiny tiny magnets on the other. There is plenty plenty room for the batteries though.

It doesn't attach exactly, the boom is pretty much holding the hole thing on because of how the fuse wraps around it nicely. I mearly had to zip tie a paperclip underneath in order to keep the fuse off the main gear. I'll post pics later.

It is sweeeeeet watching the footage at low headspeed because there appears to be 4 stationary blades! Good stuff!

I have a scale hughes 300 with difficult battery access, so have one battery in there full time and charge in situ, and only fly occasionally for a novelty. The tri blade head would suit this body.

I don't like extra weight, and my main focus is 3D so i prolly won't fly with the scale canopy again, but it was fun!

Looks awesome though, would be great to have it set up like that when it is on the shelf even if you don't fly with it.
