I got some great shots during these 6 flights...a ton of rainbow practices. 8min compilation
Watch for the slowmo @ 0:38 for a great demo of how well the tail can hold. Still flying it with ZERO PID adjustments.

Definitely interested in night flights for this model. Please share your setup once you get everything finalized!

It's for my control systems final project and I might further develop it as my Capstone project if I don't get as far as I want in the next 2 months. Will be a work in progress.

I plan on it reacting to G forces and rotational acceleration.

What you see in the video is actually plenty to fly around with and have fun...if you have good vision and your eyes don't water up haha.

I would have to be able to see the boom and preferably tail. My skills aren't quite as good as yours so I've got to know where the tails is at all times, especially inverted. Keep up the work bro!

Those canopies are pretty sick...I am holding off until I can get a more custom one. I actually haven't been flying with a canopy for over 40 flights now. I will slap a canopy on for some night flight awesomeness. Can't wait to get my first prototype finished up and go for some night flights! Getting too windy during the day to fly.

My girlfriend gave me the idea for these ones. Turned out pretty great, should be able to give them a whirl tomorrow sometime!

Bottoms are just white...eventually night LEDs will hopefully glow through the bottom illuminating the colors a bit at night. We shall see...

How are you painting these without throwing the balance off?

Counting layers/coats. Always comes out within 0.05gram difference...didn't bother balancing any further and they fly great!

The bottoms also got even number of coats of just plane jane white.

Don't be afraid, try it out! Grab some Tamiya PS and go to town...hell I even used some TS pearl white for the negative space in the Tetris shapes. I just rough up the blades with 0000 steal wool, rinse, then wipe 'em with distilled vinegar. I use white.

Buddy told me to do the vinegar thing, helps the paint stick. Also helps the masking tape stick too...but not so much it's a hassle.

good luck!
