So as NOT to tarnish a good post that was STUCK here...

(GREAT post Bill_Van!!!)

My last posts here, were a subtle cry out for help with the 230S. I finally got my bird back in the air! After reading alot here and help from someone who knows helicopters.

According to Horizon Hobby rep David, I needed to perform the latest Firmware Update, then do a Calibration and followed by a Trim Flight. This would fix any drifting issues. I don't suspect the Version 2 heli has these issues? Maybe why the Firmware is up to 4.22 or 4.23? Info for ALL of these can be foundin this forum.

Regardless, to add here to Bill's original sticky'd post, DO THESE NEEDED steps first!

I have both the V1 and V2. The little dance the V1 does on spool up doesn't bother me at all. My V2 never danced and has been recently gutted and swapped into a new 210 frame. One thing I noticed about the V2 receiver, is the weight. I should have weighed it but it has got to be at least 10 grams heavier. I wonder if sticking a lead weight to the top of the V1 RX case would help at all?

That is really interesting. I guess not many have ever had to remove a receiver, much less weigh one! I replaced a V1 with a V2 and didn't think to compare. Still, with the 250 blades, it is very quick.

im new to collective pitch helicopters never flown one I bought a 230v2 3 from amazon I thought there was something wrong with the tail rotor as it would only turn the nose one direction ON THE GROUND I finaly figured out it spins to counteract the rotational force of the main blades and increases speed with increase in throttle after getting a new esc and tail motor I lifted it off the ground for a second or two n immediately set it back down it appears to be working correctly but im too afraid to try anything else with it as I don't want to destroy it learning to fly ive been flying rc aircraft for almost 30 years what a massive difference from rc aircraft I just ordered a flight sim with the same transmitter as the one for the 230 im not going to attempt to fly it again until I have a bunch of simulator time so ive got an extra tail motor and speed control I also got extra rotor blades swashplate assemble main gear tail boom main blade assembly ect. as im sure I will crash it learning to fly it anything you can tell me to help keep from wrecking it would be greatly appreciated I live in cordele ga. and theres no one around here that's flown one or knows anything about it so im on my own

Here is a very resourceful website that spells everything out fairly clearly:
https://www.rchelicopterfun.com/how-...licopters.html

Personal tips:
Training gear.. Not only to prevent tip overs but it also helps with visual(easier to see 2 sticks jutting out of the heli body slightly tilted than just the tilted heli)

I still have a problem with this one.. Don't go too crazy on the spares you almost never seem to have the 1 part that breaks.. and if you do you could have just had a spare kit/helicopter.

Another one that I still have a big problem with... Don't go crazy with different models stick to one until you can comfortably fly it around how you like with a 95% chance that you will be able to land it in one piece(unbroken.. lol)

Have fun, good luck, and may the wind odds be in your favor!

Never have seen a broken Main Blade from Blade 230S. Tail Rotor, Boom, Frame, Landing Skid, thats what You most.

Left, bottom left, right, top left, release, hold bind button for anyone who was struggling to interpret the main post (no commas used).

Mine is flying better now in normal mode (even though I never use it). I had a mosquito bite the shit out of me and it would have been nice to flick it in normal for that but I never calibrated it and just flew stunt 1/2.

Lol. Now I have a mosquito/ bug in eye mode.
